I don't know if this is in the right place or not, but I am wanting to make my own wedding programs for my wedding on October 22. The colors are apple and white and I want to something a little different, but I don't know what. Does anyone have any ideas or things they are doing for their wedding? How about good sites to go to to look at examples.
TIA
Jen

I am having an outdoor wedding and will be making my wedding programs into fans. I will be using heavy card stock and rounding the corners. The program will be on one piece of card stock and I will be using lace on the blank cardstock at the back. And of course, ribbons. I love ribbons. I probably won't use white, but will use my wedding colors.

This site sells them, but I will probably end up making mine so that they are more personal. Hope this helps.

I'm doing a standard wedding program, printing it on glossy brochure paper. I really need to scan it and post it here - I really like the design! :P

I'm doing practically the same thing. Outdoor wedding. End of July. Hotter than 2 rats making woopie in a wool sock. I'm going to use floral scrapbooking cardstock, though, and backing it with a solid color. How hot will it be where you are in October?

I ordered some mail order invitation catalogs (I actually ordered my invitations from one of them) for program ideas, and I am going to buy the paper and do it myself. At Walmart in the craft section is a program maker. It is about $15 with paper to make 80 invitations, and comes with a disc to format it. Not a bad price and worth the effort.

Our wedding will have a definite religious touch to it, with our theme being "And the two shall become one", so we're going to use parchment paper and roll it like a scroll.

I wasn't originally planning on doing programs, but then I saw these cute layered ones so now I'm thinking of these as a DIY project.

I like the vellum overlay on this one

Those layered programs are so cute! I thought I had chosen a style for my program, but now I am not sure...

Those layered ones are similar to the ones we are making as well. Pretty simple and quick to make. The one touch we added was a maple leaf stamp embossed in gold on the front and a watermark maple leaf on each of the other pages. If you couldn't tell, we are doing a fall theme.

Those are great!! What do you think the paper dimensions are for those? Where do you get the "thing" that holds the first one together at? Does anyone know what that "thing" is called? Is it made out of card stock or some other type of paper? I know that the cover is vellum...sorry for all the questions, but this is the first really cute idea I've seen that actually seems doable :)
Thanks!

I found a neat program idea that I am thinking about using. On the front cover it will have a picture of George and I with a small poem. Then you open to the first page and it tells you about the ceremony, the second it tells you about acknowledgments and the 3rd "about the girls" and the next about the guys.. and on those pages you talk about why you chose who you chose for your bridal party... such as

Jenny - Matron of honor
Jenny is my sister, but more then that she's my best friend
Her and I have been close from day one.. from dolls to dating
We did everything together...

I think this is a neat idea because it tells you more about why the people were chosen to stand with you.. instead of "jenny" just being my sister.. it tells you more about our relationship...

Hope this helps

I was actually trying to figure it all out myself! :D I'm not sure about the dimensions, I was just going to go to the craft store and look around to see what I could come up with. I couldn't really find anything so I think you may just have to get the cardstock and cut it yourself. I think the "thing" that holds it together is just cardstock folded over and tied with a ribbon. I could be wrong, but that's what it looks like to me. Sorry I don't have more info, but once I start playing around with it I will give detailed accounts of everything I did!

For simply red and white programs, I found these:

I used this idea for my friend's wedding. It came out beautifully.
