Where can they be bought????
My dress (hopefully) will be made of real silk and its kind of form fitting. I want to wear a garter (even though we are not doing the boquet or garter toss) but I'm afraid it might be visable through the dress. I want to go to a shop and look at what they have but I'm not sure where to go, any suggestions???

sometimes garters are actually available at tuxedo shops. you can also order them online. you can also get them at craft stores like michaels in their wedding department.

Victoria's Secret has them! As well as many bridal shops. Also, if you're ordering invitations from a 3rd party (like I am, from my florist), they may carry Beverly Clark or another similar brand (which my florist does). You never know... sometimes they have them in accessory stores too. Like Afterthoughts or Icing. I think they are hot for prom, so try during that time of the year.

I've been looking online and I do not understand the difference between the tosssing one and the one that you wear. My friend and I are gonna go shoppng this weekend but I'm the first of all my friend to get married so we're all learning. Are garter belts usually worn with the garter???

there typically is no difference - sometimes one is smaller than the other - its just suggested that you have 2 - one to give and one to keep :)

garter belt is for thigh high stockings. has really nothing to do with a garter. there are about 50 different styles of garters, im sure you can find something and it dosent have to be high up on your leg, most woman wear then right above there knee

I think you can even get them at Walmart in their wedding section too. A friend of mine bought one there, but I didn't even know they had a wedding section!
