I have two best friends and I can not pick one matron of honor. My family wants me to pick one and I also heard that the Catholic Church only allows you one...any ideas? I even thought about 1 matron of honor and one maid of honor but both are married.

Go ahead and ask them both. My daughter is asking both her sisters to be Maids of Honor. This way there is no trouble. and the Catholic church should wake up!

The church just needs two individuals to sign as witnesses typically that is the Maid of Honor and the Best Man. The church doesn't care if you have one maid of honor or twenty. "Maid of Honor" is just name.

My friend got married in a Catholic church and had both a Maid of Honor and a Matron of Honor. I don't see how that would be an issue at any church. I would questions that rule, if that is what your church is telling you.

Have both! If you REALLY want to just have one. Think of who is going to be helping you more w/ the planning. That is how I narrowed it down. Everyone understood and everyone's happy, especially me.

If they are both married, then they will both be Matrons of Honor. Maids of Honor are for virgins or unmarried women. I think it's fine to have both ~ I am having a Maid and a Matron of Honor!

have both. Most catholic churches don't care. Usually they only refer to the matron of honor and the best man for the witnesses that's the only difference.

I was raised Catholic. I've never heard that rule before. Are you sure their just not trying to say that only one can be a witness? I would sit down and tlak with the Prist.

Just have bridesmaids... forget the Maid of Honor thing. Or make both of them your Maids of Honor. The Catholic Church only allows ... ? Allows? I'm sure we've all broken other Catholic Church "rules", this is very minor. Your friendship with the two girls should come before tradition ... not before church and God of course, but I don't think God would mind at all.
