Well I decided to start a journal so you guys can check out what's going on in my neck of the woods.
Were getting married on May 6, 2006 at 1:30. We just started planning but we have some stuff done. We've booked our church, St. Patrick's. It's a beautiful Catholic church and one of the oldest large churches in NYS. It was built in 1823. I don't have a picture of it but I found a really cool old postcard in one of the history books.
We've found our reception hall which is a Knights of Columbus Hall. FH sister had her reception there in October and it was beautiful. We haven't put any money down on it yet but were planning on doing that next week. It's not bad either cuz they only want 50.00 to reserve our date. As for the reception we have decided on a theme and have been playing around with centerpiece and favor idea's.
I've begun looking at dresses and found one I absolutly love. I'm trying to find it cheaper though cuz right now it's 900.00 and that's alot for our small budget. I found my bridesmaids dresses and shockingly everyone loved it (I have 7 maids)
As for the photographer, caterer (sp), cake, music and flower's I have begun looking around for them.
Plus the other day we found some really good finds. I found my unity candle at a local discount store for 5.99 and it's beautiful and we went to Big Lots and found 24 wedding bells for 1.99. We bought two packs of them (48 total) and are going to put them on the table at the reception. THey have little notes attached to them that say... "Ring this bell for all to hear. A loving wish for those so dear. For the bride and groom on this magical day, to show thier affection in thier own special way."
Well that's all for now but I'll keep you girls posted.

I'm doing a rainbow wedding. My maids are each going to wear the same dress but in different colors. The dress is Alfred Angelo and my colors are Platnum (MOH), Butter, Blue Jay, Pink Sorbet, Lettuce, Shrimp (coral)and Lavender.
My theme is a beach theme for our reception. Were making centerpeices into little beach scenes! Using glass bowls, sand (regular and blue), seashells, drink umbrella's and hopefully little beach chair candle holders (if we can find some affordable ones).
We are having a huge wedding but it's the people who care about us the most. :D

Well things are going pretty good here. Our engagment announcement goes in the paper on July 30th.
Our guest list is almost done but we still need some finishing touches. It kind of got out of hand and spiked from the 150 we planned on to over 200, quite a bit over so FH and I have to go through and make a B list.
We found our invites, were going to make them ourselves, at Wal- Mart. They also had matching envelope seals and place cards for sale. The whole shabang w/ tax and the cost of a extra ink cartridge for the computer will be 125.00 and thier really pretty. We were really happy because we saw the same ones in a catalog for 250.00 for just the invites alone and the ones we found come with the response cards too. We also found two other good deals when we were out shopping.
We also figured out our transportation. Were going to ask people to drive for us and make like a procession. FH and I are going to ride in our BM's 76 White Lincoln Towncar, it's a beautiful car in great condition with white leather seats. Were also going to use FH's grandparents 2001 Caddy(White), FH's parents 2000 Bravada (Black), His Aunts 2000 Mini Van(Maroon), 2001 White ***ry, My FH 99 Grand Am(White) and His other Aunts Silver Mazda.
Were still working on everything else though

Well I just got back from Vacation. FH and I went ***ping for a week with some of our bridal party, so it's back to planning. Over the week we found out that one of the couples in our wedding party are moving to Florida, in less than a month. Well they have been acting kinda weird lately so we decided to take them out of the wedding. I doubt they will even come up for the wedding, but that's a whole different story. Anyway that's all thats going on right now.

So I'm back finally to update my page. Alot has been going on in our lives. First of all it was so cool to see our announcement in the paper. It put a more realistic purspective on the whole thing. There is just something about seeing it right there in black and white that's so cool. Here is our picture from the paper
(Below)
Plus we got our reception hall booked and the down payment paid so it's offically ours. That feels good to, now I finally feel like I'm getting something done. There is still so much to do but we are getting it done slowly, hopefully not to slow. Hopefully not to slow.
I must say though that life is so hectic right now. I just got a new job and it's a great one. Not only do I get a significant salary increase but now I actually like what I'm doing. We are running ourselves crazy though, between the two of us Kiel and I have 4 jobs. That doesn't leave alot of time for our planning so you can imagine how crazy our lives are. So with jobs and wedding planning all around we are also looking at apartments because we are moving in togther after the first of the year. Yes people we don't even live together yet so I'm sure you can imagine how often were seeing each other these days.
One huge thing though is I finalized my dress selection and I'm working on the down payment. I have until the first week of december so I still have some time luckly.
Plus we found a ring that will match my E-Ring perfectly. I'm so excited but we are still totally stumped about what we are going to about Kiel's ring. He's not really a jewelry type guy so we have to find a ring he will be comfortable wearing everyday but won't ruien at work. Unfortuantly Titanium is way out of our price range so we have to see how it goes. He's so not picky though, he told me he found a ring he like at KMart. Everyone thinks he's crazy but hey he's the one who has to wear it. ;)
Well that's all for now folks but I will definatly try to be one here more. I love looking at all of your pictures so I want to share mine with you ladies so I can get your opinions. I value you them greatly.

I LOVE KIEL PATRICK
I sometimes can't believe how in love I am with Kiel. He doesn't even have to do anything outstanding and I swoon. Anywho I though I'd recap our story for everyone.
I met Kiel through his sister in my Junior year of high school (he was a sophmore). I had been friends with his sister for about a year at that point when we all went out. At the time he was just my bestfriends little brother but over the course of that year we grew closer.
When I was a senior and he was a junior he was part of our group and we hung out everyday. After a while he be***e one of my best friends, many would say we were inseparable. He even took me to my Senior Prom, but we were still just friends. In the spring of my senior year I got accepted to the University of South Alabama.
THe night before I left we kissed, at that point I didnt' want to leave but I did. On September 13, 2001 we began dating and spent the first 8 months together in a long distance relationship. In May I ***e home and the rest is History until November of 2003. We decided to take a trip down to Alabama and that is where he asked me to be his wife. Right over the Mobile Bay at sunset and let me tell you it was a beautiful one. SO that's our story in a nut shell.

Welcoem to the boards and everything is going great here. i love the colors and the theme for the wedding. Wanted to share a secret with you that most of us here use. When you post a pic instead of using the attachment you can go to www.photobucket.com and sign up for that it's free and upload your images there. When you want to post up a pic here when you reply to thread you click the yellow button that has a mountain and a sun on it and you copy the url for the pic in it. When you upload your pic you will notice that you have 3 url's. Go by the top one or forst one. That helps when you type threads it will help you out some. Just wanted ot share that with you because alot of brides told me about it!

It's good that you are in high spirits. Thats they way a bride needs to be! She seems like she would be a ton of laughs. I wish I had someone that makes me laugh but I don't. Well I do chris does! Maybe i should dress him up as a girl and put make-up on him just so I could laugh! That would be hilarious!

Don't they, I think they might just be prettier than me. I should have made them my bridesmaids.

I finally got something done. 5 out of 6 Bridesmaids Dresses are ordered and mine will be on friday. I can't wait for them to come in so I can put MY dress on. I also can't wait to see how beautiful my girls look.
It was funny though cuz my one bridesmaid is all upset that they had to order her a size 26 and they only ordered my other girl a 24 and she just had a baby 2 weeks ago. I was like Casey, Honey, They only ordered your dress so big because your chest is Ginormous. I mean seriously the girl wears like a DDD, what did she expect. I just hope she'll get over it! She was really upset.

My best friend got upset this weekend because she was trying on the same size as my 8 month pregnant sister! I had to tell her that the waist area was around my sister's ribs, not her belly. She still didn't feel very good about it! So I know how it feels!
2Sulli5606

I know... the thing is by looking at the two of them they look to be the same size. In fact I hope that the dress shop ordered the right sizes for both of them. I mean it's all how your body is shaped but she was to upset to think logically. I mean 2 of my other maids are a 16 and an 18. They both tried the sample dress on, which of course was a 12 and the girl who's an 18 was able to zip it further than the 16. My 18 girl has a small waist and big breasts and hips and my 16 girl has small breasts and a big belly.

I will definatly post them. It just makes so much more sense to make them yourself, you save a ton of money. Plus you know they are what you want. When my FH parents got married they ordered thier invites with thier engagement picture on them. When they got thier invites from the printer it had ther wording and a picture of another couple. Lucky the printer fixed the problem in time. I would freak if that was me!

Tomarrow night we are finally going to hear the band we want to play at our wedding. They usually play nights I have to work in the morning but tomarrow night I'm so there. They are called Masterpeice and I've heard their awsome. Plus if we go with them we get the best of both worlds because they have DJ equipment also so they can play CDs also.
I hope they are what were looking for because that's one more thing out of the way! We still don't have a caterer yet though. I just can't find one in our price range that has the food were looking for.

On another note unfortunatly we didn't get to go hear the band play! Kiel's sister's car died and we had to go help her out. We went out and jump started it, had it running for a while and the second she put it into drive again it died. In the middle of the gas station, blocking traffic and we couldn't get the **** thing into nutural to push it. So we had to jump it again just to be able to push it. OMG...I just finished your journal and when I read your announcement, I realized you are from the same town that my ex used to live, lol. THAT was not expected!
Anyway, you're doing great, and I happen to like the second hairstyle because if I put my hair up, that's how it's going to be. (Sorry, Anastacia, I have to go against you on this one! :p ) I love what you have come up with so far, can't wait to hear more!

That is so crazy, how long ago did he live here?
Let's see....we got together in 1998, and I think he moved back to NH about 2-3 years before that. He usually tries to go down at least once a year to visit and I know some of his friends that still live there. From what he tells me, it's a tiny little town, so you might know him or one of his friends. Wouldn't that be crazy?
March is a good month. I am getting married exactly one month after my son turns 2, 4 days before my dad's birthday, and 6 days before my youngest brother's.
I don't know, but I think the universe is conspiring...first the rings, then my date/your birthday, now your town. lol

Hey Lyndsay. I just got a chance to read your journal. We're not too far from one another. I'm just north of Syracuse. I also may pick the same BM dresses as you did. It's one of my choices so far. I was thinking platinum for my MOH and pink for my BM's, but they would all have the same dress.

So we went to hear a band play this weekend called Masterpiece and they were awsome. My dad's been on me to go hear them because he know's the drummer and I finally did and I love them. I had 6 people with me and they all said that the band would be awsome for our wedding. Plus my dad can get them to play it for 500.00.
I haven't heard back from my dad yet but I think I can finally say that we have a band.... whooo hooo, we'll have music at our reception.

One of our groomsmen has been dating one of our bridesmaids for almost 3 years and engaged to her for a year. They live together in a really small apartment and he's been out of work for a couple months now. Recently he joined a new band and ever since then has been acting strange. He told my friend that she could not come see his show because she wouldn't fit in with the crowd but then invited his ex behind her back. She found out that he has been calling his ex for a few weeks now. Plus they had some problems last summer that they worked through but all the sudden he's been bringing it up again and saying that his friends don't understand how he can stay with her after what she did to him. (She unexpectdly moved to Virginia to find herself but was back within a month). Last week he broke up with her... after having sex with her but they talked it out that day and got back together. Things have been back to normal for the last week with them until this morning.
This morning he just out of the blue broke up with her, claiming to need more space. He told her that he has felt this way basically the whole three years they have been together and he can't hide it anymore. He told her he was moving back in with his parents. That he was done and nothing she did or said would change his mind. She asked why he proposed to her last year and he said that at the time he though that was what he wanted but now he realized he was just doing what she wanted him to do. That he could never really see himself married to her and that's why he posponed thier September wedding (they were sposed to be married 9-24-05).
To top it all off because he made more money than her up to the time he lost his job he was the one who purchased most of the stuff in their apartment. That being so he's taking everything that he bought, both thier TV's, all their movies, most of the furnature and basically leaving her nothign but the bed and the bills.
He is out of our wedding and for all I care out of our lives.... we have however replaced him with one of Kiel's friends who just moved back from flordia.
Jim is out and Rick is in....

Thanks for the support ladies. I feel so horrible for my friend. She's had alot of heartbreak in her life. 4 1/2 years ago when she had her daughter her daughter's father started to treat her like crap and got real possesive over her. She left him when thier daughter was 2 months old. Then about a year later she met this other guy who she started dating. They dated for 1 years and had moved in together when he suddenly kicked her out of his apartment. About 6 months later was when she met Jimmy and she fell hard and fast. She said for the first time in her life she could see herself married then he too turns out to be a complete jerk. I think the thing that's hurting her most though is that her daughter had fallen for Jim too. He always treated her so nice and was planning on adopting her after they were married. She would tell us Jim was going to be her new dad.
As for the ring she did keep it. It's a really pretty three stone ring set in white gold, it's from Zales. I don't know what she's planning on doing with it.

I feel terrible for her. I wish there was something someone could do to make this easier for her, but the truth is she has to deal with this herself. It's just awful. I don't even want to imagine the pain she must feel. I'm very sorry for her. God bless you and her and she'll be in my prayers.

I know she'll bounce back, she's a strong women. After all she's been raising her daughter by herself since she was 17. I think the thing that hurts the most is with Jim this was unexpected. With the other guys we all knew it would come to a point they would no longer be together. These guys were not looking to settle down, they were looking for a little fun. Jim comes from a good family and his family loves Casey, he's educated and talented and a really sweet guy. Or he was until he joined this new band. I was talking to FH about the whole thing and he thinks Jim is doing some sort of drugs. He's lost a ton of weight and I know he's expiramented with coke before. I just hope he figures out when he wants in life and takes care of whatever problems he has.

So our idea for our centerpieces is to make mini beaches.
We are going to take these Dish Gardens (glass bowls) and fill them with nutural colored sand. We are going to use blue sand to create water. We are going to have mini chairs, drink umbrella's, shells and make mini coolers. These are the chairs we have in mind unless we find them cheaper...

The dollar store really is one of the greatest places on earth LOL!

These were the pictures that were taken of us at Thanksgiving time. We don't have alot of pictures of just the two of us. What do you ladies think? I think the 4th is the best!

Awwww thanks. All of our friends joke around about us being the perfect couple and give us a hard time. It's all in good fun though. I was actually shocked the pictures ***e out that good. Usually Kiel and I don't photograph well! Either I look horrible or Kiel does!

I know that feeling. FH and I seem to have trouble getting good photographs too. We have one of us that is really good, but I can't post it online because I was leaning over in a tank top and you get a really good cleavage shot, lol!

LOL, Nothing beats the cleavage shots. I'm had a few of those in my day!
Till this day I still think the only really good picture we have is our engagement picture. It must have been a fluke-LOL

These are the vows we decided on!
I, Lyndsay, take you, Kiel, to be my lawfully wedded husband, my constant friend, my faithful partner and my love from this day forward. In the presence of God, our family and friends, I offer you my solemn vow to be your faithful partner in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, and in joy as well as in sorrow. I promise to love you unconditionally, to support you in your goals, to honor and respect you, to laugh with you and cry with you, and to cherish you for as long as we both shall live.

So we met with the caterer last friday and it went great. We had to go to thier home for the meeting and let me tell you thier house is beautiful and HUGE!! They were awesome, really great people who know alot about the business. They had amazing pictures of the caterings they have done and a book filled with notes of re***entdation and thank letters from as far back as the early 90's.
The menu is perfect, just the description of the food is mouth watering. They know the layout of our hall since they used to caterer there all the time so when I told her that we were having it there she got excited. She has all these idea's of how to decorate the buffet tables. She wants to get these clear plastic cubes from Lowes that look like giant ice cubes, cut holes in them and fill them with twinkling white lights.
Plus they knocked 2.00 of thier price for us bringing the total per person to 15.00 which is good for our area and their expertise. Plus the buffet package is really good.
We get 2 meats, 1 Pasta, 1 Potato, 1 Vegetable and Assortment of 4 different salads and breads. Plus they serve the breads to the tables for the guests. Plus they do an Hor Dorve (sp) "Montage" and do a free cake cutting!
I have pictures they gave me of one of thier "montages" I'll post when I get a chance.
I'm so excited!!!

Well ladies time is wearing down and I'm starting to stress.
I think I finally have everything in place and then I find out that I'm wrong. Now that I finally got the caterer out of the way I find out that I need to find a new photographer because my Uncle won't be able to do it. So now I'm back to square one on that one.
I'm excited though because my dress should be here in less than a month and my BM dresses are on thier way too. As for attire all we have left to do is to get our FG a dress and Kiel and his boys need to go pick out and get fitted for thier tux's.
This is going to be the quickest 3 1/2 months of my life!!

I know... it's scary. I was filling out this calender thing at work today and we had to fill in like birthdays and stuff because they do cards and what not! It felt weird writing "My Husbands Birthday" for Kiel's because it's in July.
Then when I got home I added us to this calendar too!

FH picked out these mugs for the guys last night and commented on how he'd like one too. So I might surprise him with one. Then I was thinking about what to engrave on it. Something about him being my husband! That's when it hit me! He's going to be my husband!
