OMG! Nobody ordered from DBS did they?

DBS pulled down it's website and closed it's doors for "vacation" until July 18th! The dealers don't even know what's going on and nobody can get in contact with the owners! I feel so sorry for those dealers and brides! If you ordered from them go to www.windsorpeak.com (http://www.windsorpeak.com) they have a helpline up to help those who ordered from them. Boy am I glad I decided not to use them!

The company closed so all the brides who paid for their dresses and ordered from them are S.O.L. because the owneres are not responding. It doesn't affect me, but they aren't contacting the poor brides to tell them that they won't get their dress. I was just letting everyone know in case someone ordered from them.

I wonder if it's a coincidence that the company I just ordered something from e-mailed me and told me the vendor they get the items (tie tac and button cover) from is also closed until the 18th. The company I went through is Heaster Lawson (I think that's the right spelling) and I'm very happy with them except for the e-mail letting me know that my "2nd day air" shipment wasn't going to be shipped until the 19th and is that a problem... ummm... yeah, the wedding is the 16th!

Anyways... I just thought it was a strange "coincidence" and wanted to add to the heads up. But at least my company let me know what was going on ASAP!

Discount Bridal Services. A friend gave me this book Bridal Bargains and they are recommended in that book. There are reps that you can contact that get dresses, etc. for a fairly good discount. I've had tons of people reccommend them to me and they were in good standings with the BBB. So that is why it is so weird that they just closed the doors and nobody can get in contact with the owners. I can't believe yall never heard of them! They are all over other wedding boards!

No, the official website was www.discountbridalservice.com (http://www.discountbridalservice.com/) but they pulled the website down on the 8th. The dealers often have their own website. If you google "discount bridal services" it will bring up alot of the dealers web pages and it states on their web page that they are a part of discount bridal services, inc.

ahhh - ok - I feel better - I ordered from www.discountbridals.com - which made me panic a little - but they're there and still functioning just dandy :)

Yep, I heard on another wedding forum that DBS is declaring bankruptcy and unless your dress was supposed to come in by July, you can pretty much kiss it and your money goodbye. The only advice I saw was to try to contact your credit card company asap to try to get the money back from them. Pretty crazy!
