HELP! I've been going crazy trying to find a site for my ceremony and wedding, mainly because we want an outdoor ceremony and have an invited list of about 250.

Any suggestions? Also, has anyone worked with a wedding planner in the NJ/PA area?

One final question... is it crazy to do an outdoor wedding on July 2? (it's a Sunday next year and most people should have a 4 day weekend).

Thanks,
Ami

I don't think its crazy - I would make sure to have some shade, or some fans or misters to keep people cool in the event that its a scorcher.

should? umm not really do most people work in retail? and also remember that weekend is #2 expensive for airlines 2nd busiest holiday. and gas prices are really high in early july(not that that matters) but what im getting at is that might not be a perfect time for everyone else.. then again who cares its about you. lol july2nd sounds great to me, ill be there with bells on (and underwear of course)

You are not invited to my wedding if you wear underwear. I'm sorry Marcia, but that is just unacceptable. ;)

Just ***e back from a wedding on 7/3 in Stroudsburg, PA (poconos region) that was gorgeous. The wedding was held at Stroudsmore Inn www.stroudsmoor.com. They had the ceremony overlooking the valley - beautiful location. The weather was perfect a little cooler because it was in the Poconos.

I should mention that we attended another weding in that area last year on 7/2 that was brutal. Outside wedding and everyone was sweating like pigs! So if you do decide that an outside wedding is for you on that date - be sure to have some sort of covering for your guests and you and FI in his dark tuxedo to shade you from the sun. Or else have a very late evening wedding (8pm).

The Willows www.radnor.com/community/willows.html or Brantwyn Estate www.weddings-delval.com/Brantwyn/ in Delaware have beautiful facilities. This was another great place that a friend of mine looked into for her wedding but was too far from her church www.cairnwood.org. You may also want to check out Penn's Morris Arboretum www.business-services.upenn.edu/arboretum/rental2.html.

I was told by both brides that married over 4th of July weekend that the sites were less expensive because it is a holiday weekend and most couples don't book those weekends.

Good luck!

Lots of state parks have great sites for weddings and are very reasonable and have great accomodations. I'm a DJ in Florida but am from the Pa/NJ area. It's your day, it will work.:o) Best wishes to the two of you

i actually just sent a long note to the admin to look into this. It is looking to me like Kety, Susan Megan, Leo, JoeCt and Rose are all the same person and maybe even Blue Eyes. I do notice that none of them are logged on at the same time.

I am a bride to be looking to get married in Spring 2006 also in the southern NJ or Philly or DE area and have asked for help with sites in this area on this forum in the past, not many replys for this one. Now when you ask for decorating ect... loads of help comes your way. So im thinking we are not the majority being in the area we are in. If you get any clues let me know, and I will do the same.

Oh yeah what colors are you planning to use? We were originally going to do blue with touch of yellow (pale colors) and then my last visit home about 6 weeks ago my fiance switched the colors on me to a lime(ish) green from walking in the mall by the rental tux place that is used for prom he really like a green tie they had. So now I am battleing with what to uses as an accent color with a lime(ish) green. What do you think of going with a bright orange as the main accent color to the lime green and a touch of aqua blue?

We should keep in touch and help eachother plan weddings in the NJ/Philly area.

Best of luck!!!!!! - Jennifer - :p
