 Did anyone have engagement photos. I was told by my photographer to have both of us wear white tops and jeans, but I read several places online that white is a big no-no. So now i am totally confused. They are outside in a park with lots of trees, a lake and some old stone bridges. Any suggestions would be grealty appreciated.

I would wear what your photographer told you to. they are the professional and I think white would be good if you are taking outside because it will show up well against the green grass, trees and the lake. I think that would look just great.

I would say go with the white. It will show up better outside. It will brighten up the pictures since you are surrounded by darker natural colors. You don't want anything too bright or multi colored since you are going to be surrounded by so much color anyway. Where are you getting yours done at? Ours are scheduled (hopefully) for the 23rd.

Wear what you want... If the photographer is really a professional then he would let you wear whatever you want.
You know what don't even hire a professional to do engagement photos, have one of your friends or family members do them for you.

many photographers suggest white because it does brighten up a picture. not only that, your engagement photo in the paper, if you're submitting it, will be in black and white most likely - this will actually look better than wearing darker clothes that will just have no contrast in the picture whatsoever.

I just called to confirm my appointment. It is actually the 17th. Anyway my photographer said to wear something light and neutral. She says it gives better contrast and will look better in the newspaper like Reecey suggested.

Ryan and I had indoor pictures done. We wore khaki pants. He had a green button down shirt and I wore a burgundy sweater with blue trim. They looked great in color, sepia, and b&w and ***e out great in the paper.

I would recommend getting the picture you want printed in b&w so there's little surprise about what it looks like; your photographer should be able to let you preview it before printing.

For color pictures, especially, make sure you match but unless you're the "exact same shirt" type, wear colors and articles of clothing that complement each other but don't have the same colors in them.
