Maybe this should be in another board, but I never envisioned myself on my wedding day in anything other than white. I tried on this dress @ Debbis Bridal & fell in love w/ everything including the color. So I took my mom, godmother, mother-in-law, Maid of honor & grandma to show them the dress. They all loved it. My grandma loved the color (which suprised me) & half thought white was better the other half loved the dress the way it was. I know for a fact the detail on the dress won't stand out as much on white & the store doesn't even have the dress in white so I can try it on. Thay can order it in white though. My major problem: Like I said, I never envisioned myself walking down the aisle in anything other than white, but I love this dress. I have no idea what color to choose. The dress picture is in my bio. What do you girls think?

Well, in my opinion, that color in the photo looks beautiful, makes the dress look very elegant and rich. It's a gorgeous dress, btw. I noticed when I went dress shopping that some dresses looked cheaper in white; something to keep in mind: how will white affect the overall look/feel of that particular dress? Also, I noticed that all the dresses you were wearing that you said you didn't like happen to be white. And you say yourself in your bio that you love the color of this dress. Hmm, maybe you already know subconsciously what color you want. :) But you just need to make sure for yourself. Envision yourself in that dress on the day of. In your head, can you see it in white or do you keep seeing it in that color?

have you checked with the designer to see if any other bridal shoppes carry the dress? They may have it in white for you to try on.
It is a beautiful dress, no matter what shade you get it in - if you want white, you should have white though :) Also, some designers have a "borrow a dress" program where the bridal shoppe can borrow the dress in the color you want to have you try it on. I know bonny and I think alfred angelo does.

You know... WHITE white doesn't look good on many people. I thought the dress was a beautiful color. Besides... who wants to be a "cookie cutter" bride? I'm going for something different. If you like the dress, I say go for it. I don't think anyone will care once you're actually at your wedding and all anyone can think about it how beautiful you look. :)

Your dress looks like a champagne color? I absolutly love your dress....Ihave seen dresses on here from other brides and yours is my fav.!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you do not purchase this dress I'm going to have to have a second wedding just so I can buy and wear it!!!!! It is soooo gourgose! Anyway, I was the same way...I didn't want to wear anything but white, then I tried on a dress in champagne and it looks so elegant. It looks a lot like yours but with out a lot of the beading on top. They could have ordered it in white, but I didn't know what it would look like on me. A long time ago I asked other brides if they were all wearing white and I got so many responses of a NO! I think you look beautiful in your dress, and I really don't think you will be dissappointed with the color!!!

I showed my mother the dress I was getting and the one I had decided not to. She loved the one I didn't get, but was sceptical about the one I wanted. I was trying on the store's white version and ordered the ivory. She loved it.
Most people don't look good in the white dresses... it just doesn't fit with their skintone. If you like that color, I would go with the champagne one and not risk it on ordering the white.

I might be biased because I ordered a dress with a little bit of color in it, but I agree with the others that not many people can pull off the white white dress. In looking at the dresses you tried on, I by far like the one you like best in the champagne color. It looks gorgeous on you and I think the ones you tried on in white, while they look ok I think that the color of the other one does more for your skin tone and just looks gorgeous. I would go with the one with a little bit of color IMHO.

Love the dress, color and all the detail. You look beautiful in this! :)
