Hey all!
It's been a while since we've been able to take part in a wedding planning survey/poll, so I thought I'd go ahead and start one myself. I always love filling these things out (well, when the subject is about something I enjoy!).
So I put together a few questions. Feel free to answer ALL of them or just a couple. Hopefully this will generate some great responses and fine discussion! Happy planning!
1. Did you, or do you plan to make your own invitations? Or do you plan to purchase them? Did you purchase them online - if so, any recommendations?
2. What's the biggest hassle you've had to deal w/ during your wedding planning?
3. What was your most exciting or most fun aspect of planning your wedding? (e.g. being creative w/ decorations or invitations, browsing for invitations and wedding favors online, buying a wedding dress, etc...)
4. What is the one thing (or process) that you wish could have been made easier during your wedding planning?
5. What was your most difficult decision when buying a wedding product (invitations, favors) and/or wedding service (photographer, reception or ceremony location, etc)?
6. What do/did you look for when buying invitations? Special offers? Price drops? Free shipping? Or simply the high quality of the wedding product?
Well, that's all that I can come up w/ now - if ANYONE has any additional questions they think would be appropriate and fun to answer, feel free to add them!
Enjoy filling out the survey - and even more importantly reading others' answers...that's the fun part!

Okay, I'll bite.
1. Did you, or do you plan to make your own invitations? Or do you plan to purchase them? Did you purchase them online - if so, any recommendations?
I made my own, with a kit (they sell them at Michael's and Target). It was affordable, and I got to design it exactly as I want, but it was such a pain in the *****.
2. What's the biggest hassle you've had to deal w/ during your wedding planning?
My mother. The paper items, like invites, etc. The cake, because I don't want to spend $$$ on a cake, but I want a cake that looks like $$$.
3. What was your most exciting or most fun aspect of planning your wedding? (e.g. being creative w/ decorations or invitations, browsing for invitations and wedding favors online, buying a wedding dress, etc...)
I have pretty much hated every aspect of it, but I guess I would have to say my florist. The flowers give me stress (told you I pretty much hate all aspects of planning a wedding), but I love my florist. She's an awesome lady and I'm so excited to work with her (even though I am going over budget with her, I don't care, because she is so cool and I'm just glad to have met her).
4. What is the one thing (or process) that you wish could have been made easier during your wedding planning?
Um, everything, but mostly the paper items and cake.
5. What was your most difficult decision when buying a wedding product (invitations, favors) and/or wedding service (photographer, reception or ceremony location, etc)?
Location is definitely the hardest part. Finding one that is affordable and nice and doesn't have all kinds of restrictions and fees. My second difficult decision has been the cake, because I have a hard time spending several hundred dollars on something that I don't really like.
6. What do/did you look for when buying invitations? Special offers? Price drops? Free shipping? Or simply the high quality of the wedding product?
Price and having total control over the design.

oh sure - me too.
1. Did you, or do you plan to make your own invitations? Or do you plan to purchase them? Did you purchase them online - if so, any recommendations?
I bought mine - they're carlson craft unforgettable in navy. I bought them from www.uptowndowntownshopping.cceasy.com - 40% discount from retail price
2. What's the biggest hassle you've had to deal w/ during your wedding planning?
Biggest hassle - bridesmaid dresses - they were hideous so I sent them back - thank god I could. I'm ordering new ones this week
3. What was your most exciting or most fun aspect of planning your wedding? (e.g. being creative w/ decorations or invitations, browsing for invitations and wedding favors online, buying a wedding dress, etc...)
My dress is the most exciting part - well that and the gift I'm getting my fiance - I'm getting him his new truck :)
4. What is the one thing (or process) that you wish could have been made easier during your wedding planning?
I wish the bridesmaids dresses were easier!
5. What was your most difficult decision when buying a wedding product (invitations, favors) and/or wedding service (photographer, reception or ceremony location, etc)?
Ceremony location - I had to find a church big enough that would allow me to have my minister.
6. What do/did you look for when buying invitations? Special offers? Price drops? Free shipping? Or simply the high quality of the wedding product?
I looked for exactly what I wanted - found it then searched for the cheapest price

Pay no atemtion to what I did I the last reply...anyway. Here Goes:
-We bought our invites from Carlson Craft and as a matter of fact just got done putting all 100 of them together (Jason is off for the next two weeks, so I'm putting him to work). They are great and they ahve a lot to chose from although I didn't look too much...it's too overwhelming, so I picked the ones that stood out the most.
-Where should I start. Inth beginning it was the "adults only reception" My mom thru a big fit. We got our way in the end. Now it is just getting everything done. Every day sems like something new is brought to the table to do. It's exhasting.
-The most exciting things I've done is get my dress and the bridesmaid dresses together....check out honeymoon suites, check out the Hummer Limo we rented.....going to the Conservatory to see what kinds of ideas we come up with as a couple....register for gifts.
-I wish I had more help from people. I wish that I could delegate more responsibility to people without thinking they were going to screw it up.
-My dress. I had this image in my mind for so long of what I thought I wnted and ended up getting something really different but not too different that it wasn't me. I fall more in love with it every time I put it on.
-My invites are really contemporary...they were expensive so I tried to get a deal and did. I don't think I would have gotten them with out it.

Reecey - A truck! Your fiance is one lucky guy! Hey, what do you mean by "having to find a church big enough to use your minister?" Just curious, cause my first image was to picture an extremely large minister. :D That can't be it right?
Octoberbride - Sounds like you are a bit of a control freak like me. :) Totally know what you mean about not being able to delegate and trust people to do the job I would want done.

Reecey - Okay, now that I reread it, I think I got it! Trying to find a church big enough (for your number of guests) that will ALSO allow you to use your own minister. Haha, I think I'm a little out of it.

HAHA - I meant a church that would allow me to use my minister that had room enough for all of our guests :) We have a lot of smaller churches around here :P

1. Did you, or do you plan to make your own invitations? Or do you plan to purchase them? Did you purchase them online - if so, any recommendations?
I plan on purchasing them. Possibly using www.princessweddinginvitations.com
2. What's the biggest hassle you've had to deal w/ during your wedding planning?
Hmmm....the biggest hassle? I guess getting the guest list from my FMIL. I asked for it in December. By April, I got her to run through some names while she counted on her fingers. Now, it is July, and I am waiting for a list in writing with addresses so i can send out the Save the Dates that ***e in last week.
3. What was your most exciting or most fun aspect of planning your wedding? (e.g. being creative w/ decorations or invitations, browsing for invitations and wedding favors online, buying a wedding dress, etc...)
So far, I think our meetings with the caterer and the officiant have been the most exciting. They are the things that made it feel real to me. But i haven't gone dress shopping yet and I think that will be the most exciting of all.
4. What is the one thing (or process) that you wish could have been made easier during your wedding planning?
I don't think I have an answer here. Everything has gone pretty smoothly.
5. What was your most difficult decision when buying a wedding product (invitations, favors) and/or wedding service (photographer, reception or ceremony location, etc)?
I had a really hard time finding an invitation that I liked.
6. What do/did you look for when buying invitations? Special offers? Price drops? Free shipping? Or simply the high quality of the wedding product?
Quality and design...I really wanted something that would include my star theme.

1. Haven't decided but I plan on purchasing online. I stumbled upon some that I really like and have only found one company online that carries them so far. I think it's the company's exclusive design so I guess I'm stuck ordering from them!
2. I actually haven't had any major dilemmas yet *knocks on wood*
3. Shopping for the dress is definately the most exciting so far!
4. Hmm..nothing has been really difficult so far, but I still haven't done much. I am planning DIY flowers so that might be a bit tricky.
5. Flowers have definately been the most difficult decision. I still don't know for sure if I've actually decided on something!
6. I was originally looking for something cheap and unique when searching for invitations. I found exactley what I was looking for (even though I didn't know what I was looking for!)

1. I made my own invitations. They are a top fold card with our picture on the front and the verse "As autumn leaves turn their billiant hue two..... then you open them up and it has our names, times, date.... at the bottom of the card there is our names with 2 leaf shape things. I love them!
2. My bridesmaid ditched dress shopping to go partying and I had to replace her. It wasnt too bad just a little stressful for a few days.
3. The decoration planning. Autumn is such a beautiful time of year and i love all the colors and things you can do with it.
4. So far things are good and have been working out really well. Ask me in a few months.
5. I have trouble deciding on the little things... but they usually work out better, I spend 25 minutes trying to decide what program cover to pick, then decided to leave it until my FH was around and in the mean time found the perfect stationery paper that will work.
6. I wanted something different. Most invitation that you get now are a rectangle shape, they might be different colors but they are all the same style. I want my wedding to be different and memorable.

I'm not at bridezilla stage yet, but I feel like the vision I have should be carried out at all costs. So, ya I guess I am. I don't get b!t(hy tho.
