Favors

I had an idea for favors and wanted to see what everyone thought of it...

Originally I wasn't going to waste any money on doing favors because other than a small semi useful picture frame I got once I can't think of any wedding favors I actually kept. I thought of an idea for a favor/placecard holder and wanted to see what you all thought of it and what your honest opinions were.

I was thinking about using a CD case as a placecard holder and with a computer program I have making a cover with the name of the couple/family, the table name, Mike and I's name, and the date (with some sort of pretty background printed on it as well). The favor part of it would be making a CD which would contain our first dance as the first song, our last dance as the last song and in between burn some songs that we know are going to be played at the reception.

Is this really corny?? Should I just stick with no favors? I don't want to be wasteful with my money, time and supplies.

I hope that isn't cheesy! I am doing the same thing. Except the cover of the CD will just have a small pic of us with our names and date. Then I plan on having a ribbon thread through the placecard on each end, then wrap the ribbon around the case so that the card and the ribbon lay flat. The ribbon will be secured with a small sticker on the back where the ends of the ribbon meet. I don't think that description is very clear, but it is the best I could do! We plan on doing favors in addition though. That is my moms doing...but I won't argue! :p

i think that sounds fine. I still have mine from a friends wedding. It had some nice songs on it. As a matter of fact it is in my truck right now.

I am also using cds as favors (along with a candle favor), but I love the idea of using it as a placecard holder! That is too cute!
