I am getting married next October and I was going to use red and orange as wedding colors but I also want to use stars as the wedding symbol, if you have any ideas on decorations or anything to do with the stars, let me know! :)

Ohh! I love stars-it's like my thing...hehe. We were going to do a star themed type of wedding, but I was having a very hard time finding the things that I wanted. We are also getting married in the fall, so I opted for a fall theme with beautiful fall colors. Maybe a good thing to do would be incorporate a few star themed things into your wedding but not do a full on star theme. You can probably find placecard holders that are stars. If you go to this website, they have some different ideas.

I am doing stars too (good memory Sarah!). But I am using light blue, silver, and white for my colors. I have only found one invite with stars on them that I like. Check out www.princessweddinginvitations.com/images/bb-d4clslt-uvbw.jpg

For favors we are doing star shaped chocolates from a local candy store.

We bought some wooden star shaped boxes at Michaels that we painted. I am not sure what we are doing with them yet.

I will share more ideas later..I am sort of in a hurry right now.

Okay... so it's not elegant at all, and I don't remember the name, but there's a common quilt pattern that's a star that looks great with dark reds, blues, greens, etc. You may be able to find or make something using that type of star... I wish I could remember the pattern name!

Don't limit yourself to pre-fab options. I've learned that the office supply store is an incredible resource, especially for anything printing... and usually a lot cheaper.

You could also use constilations and horoscope things with you star theme...I'm really into astrology and I had been thinking about doing a star theme too...we were going to use the phrase "it was written in the stars" and I was thinking about using the astrology signs as table names and stealing this thing we did in girlscouts...we took pie tins and punced holes through it in the shape of constillations and put a flashlight behind it to make the design on the ceiling...I'm not sure how to make that in an elegant way that suits a wedding and not a 10 year-olds ***pout, but maybe you could come up with something...just an idea

I'm doing a autumn leaves theme and everywhere i look for stuff i find lots of stars but not many leaves. Stars are very common. At my brothers wedding the reception was held in a curling rink (small town wedding, nohere else was big enough) and they had the windows covered with heavy black paper with hundreds of stars cut into them. Then when the lights were dim you could see the light coming through it lighting up the stars. It was very cool and luckly someone else had done this and they just borrowed the precut paper from them.
