 I am getting married in Antigua & I want a short sassy wedding dress with a detachable train. Has anyone seen one, or knows who makes them. I really don't want to have one made just for one day.

I have no clue, but it sounds awesome. Good luck. I'm sure someone will have an idea. I know you don't want to, but you may be able to find or modify a pattern and have someone make it cheaper than buying one... in fact, depending on the pattern, you may be able to wear the dress without the train again if your concern is basically wasting money or someone's time.

how short? ankle, knees? give a little more detail and i think we can find something.

I found this, its ankle length detachable train. just as an example.

like i said give us a bit more detail. ;)

Here are some short gowns...

short gowns (http://www.bridesave.com/search/index.cfm?action=searchresults&page=1&opt1=0&opt2=0&opt3=0&opt4=0&opt5=248&opt6=0&opt7=0&opt8=0&opt9=0&opt10=0&opt11=0&opt12=0&opt13=0&dept_id=2)

The link is a search result, so I don't know how long it will work.

I think these gowns are lovely. I particularly like this one. (http://www.bridesave.com/search/index.cfm?action=details&product_id=10704)

I don't think they have detatchable trains though...

Thanks everyone! I am looking for something right above the knee, but if it's just to die for I really don't care. I'll be wearing these shoes (Moulin Rouge/Light Ivory Silk/777) http://www.saugusshoes.com/product.html?style=11&page=4 The weddings at 4pm & the reception follows so I wanted to be able to jump right into the moment with a dress that was sassy, sexy, fun & light to dance in.

Elaine - That dress was so cute. Vixey1 - Thanks for the sample site. Kyzmit - That was a good idea about modifying a pattern.

Ya'll have all been very helpful.

Thanks again!

This may sound weird but, back in the early 90's the wedding gowns and bridesmaids dresses ***e with a long over-skirt that you detached and underneath it was a short, knee length dress that was straight. I have two thoughts: One - check out vintage wedding gown websites (if you don't mind used) and two - look for a pattern on the internet that could give you that style. I don't remember a detachable train, but the whole skirt. Also, I am going back 15 years (when I was engaged the first time), so my memory might be a tad bit off. Hope this helps.

You're so funny; most brides obsess over finding the right shoes to go with their dress and here you are looking for a dress to go with those great shoes. I don't blame you, they look like a lot of fun :)

Elaine - I looked at the link for short dresses at bridesave.com and liked the same dress you did! I'm having a casual wedding (church ceremony, but reception in my FIL's backyard), and can't decide what to wear. But something like that would be perfect, I think!

Thanks to Becky, my dress dilemma is solved !! It is already ordered :) It is perfect ...quite short, flirty, trendy, great for our theme and it is going to put the focus on my legs, not on my chest ( lol do i have one ?? ) I am going with full elbow length white satin gloves, pearl choker, and white heels. I am 5' 9 so I think 3" heels will be fine, FH is 6' 4. So... what the heck do you think for hosiery ?? I was originally thinking something sexy like the dress ( lacy thigh hi), then considered like a wedding bell pattern type. I dont want to look ****ty, just Hmmm Thinking more about it, do I REALLY need to wear any, or can i just go bare ? open to thoughts on this one for sure... Steph :o

Depending on your legs, you could go bare and use that spray on stuff that helps cover your legs a little.

Oh yes! That spray on hose is the best! You just have to put alot of it on inorder for it to look like hose!

Okay... www.elegantgowns.com has it listed. You might check with the lady that runs the site. You have to e-mail her to get a price quote.

Otherwise... it looks like Kleinfeld carries that brand.
