hey girls, i was wondering on this theme idea deal, our wedding date was june 03,2006 now we changed it to sept 09 2006, so all that gets to me about colors and a theme for my wedding, i had gone with like a spring theme, then a color of pink and (maybe black) or do you think now the pink color has to be changed so it'll be like a wine color and black. the pink i had chosen is a little light for a sept. wedding huh? and its not like its all ugly and dark or cold over here in sept. im in san antonio texas, and the summer is barely ending in or around late nov, so the fall temp shouldnt make a difference. but any ideas of what people are doing for a sept. wedding, like colors or themes?

You don't have to change your colors at all. You can incorporate any color into fall - that's the great thing about fall - you have every color available to you :) My wedding is in November and one of my colors is yellow - that's considered a "spring color" but ya know what? Its not - its MY color :) And you're right - in SA - you're still in summer in September!

yea i know, its a little hot down here!!! well thanks, i'll look into it, but the color black doesnt seem to be all blah...? im telling my girls what color they should wear, like either a black haltered top and the rest of the dress like a pink shade that im picking, and some of them want like a red dress but uh hello??? i'm choosing!! anyways black goes with everything huh? and the theme, you think i should do like a fall theme? you know the whole leaves, and candlelight, and fall-ish theme? im putting together for the centerpieces, glass margarita glasses, semi filled with water and a little tealight candle floating around, i might put some garland or roses wrapped around the bottom, but either way i guess there's plenty of ways to make a fall theme huh? :D

You can do whatever you want, its your wedding! Just because your wedding is in Sept doesn't mean you have to change your colors. I am also doing pink and black, and I love how it looks together. If you are wanting to go more with a fall theme you could just use a darker pinkish/red. Good luck!

I think those colors will look so pretty! Here is my vision, white linen tableclothes with smaller black tablescloths over it. Then pink roses and gerbera daisies and maybe something else in the center. I think it will look so pretty with the pink flowers on the black tablecloth, but my wedding is semi-formal so I feel like the white tablesclothes would make it a little more casual. I am going back and forth on the bridesmaids dresses, but I love your idea. I hadn't thought about using both the colors as opposed to all black or pink, that would look so pretty. My theme is a beach theme, but it is still basically summer for you, so you can go with whatever you want.

I'm using roses and daisies too...but I wanted to put another flower in there somewhere...the florist I talked to wasn't very helpful and looked at me like I sprouted a tail when I told her I wanted roses and daisies...my colors are periwinkle, silver and white...any ideas?

Your florist didn't like the idea of those two flowers together? I think that would make such a unique look, and it has my favorite flowers. For me it was going to just be the gerbera daises, but my fiance surprised me with these beautiful pink roses last week that were such a perfect color of pink that I decided I wanted that too! I feel like I need some kind of white flower in there, but I can't figure out what I am looking for. I haven't talked to a florist yet, but it looks so pretty in my mind. I was also thinking about having vases filled with sand, sea shells, and then water with the flowers coming out of that to go with my theme.

This might sound crazy, but for Prom a few years ago my fiance and I had the florist spray paint roses silver for the corsage and boutinere. It looked so cool, oh, and the white stuff was spray painted black, it was so pretty. What do you think of that to incorporate the silver? I don't know how any other flower would hold up to the paint, but you could have something like white, periwinkle and silver roses, with some white and periwinkle daises mixed in. I am trying to picture that in my head, and I think it would look pretty cool. What do you think?

I have never heard of spray painting flowers...that's an awsome idea! Roses and daisies look absolutely beautiful together...my fiance gave me a bouquet of them when he proposed to me...white daisies and red roses...I want to keep the same flowers and get them in my colors.

I'm glad I could help, we went to Michaels first and tried it out with fake roses and liked it, so we took the one we liked best to the florist and she replicated it perfectly.

I am getting married on Sept 3, 05 and I am using light pink as my wedding color, with black and white of course. So I think that would be a good idea! We are using pink roses and alstras for the flowers, white for me, and we are going with the double heart theme. We did not go overboard with it we just have it in in some places (invites, favors, napkins.......) Do what you want and it will look beautiful! (especially pink!!!!!!!!)

yea, pink is my color and you could really work around it with a whole lota of shades of pink too, now hopefully my girls would like the idea of the two toned dresses. oh and the san antonio spurs won!!! alright!!!! ya know since im from texas, it's a texas thing!!! :p anyways, i also thought of calloways nursery, or any garden nursery store, they have silk flowers on sale. i bought a whole bunch for like $5.00. i got all excited, that they have all types of seasonal flowers available on sale. their like 0.99 each. just a thought cause i know if you'll have a garden ridge around there, their flowers are on sale, but not as much as you would think. well, i m using all those to deco' the tables, with the glass margarita glasses i got going on with a tealight candles floating around in there, and a pinch of those little black stones too. i tried it and it looked real cute, and the tealight candle lasted around 5 hrs. enough time as the reception!.to make a long story short, thats what im doing to mix and match different shades of pink and black together.
