We've planned our wedding in Mauritius for May 2006. What can I expect? Does anyone know? Also, will mosquitoes be a problem? They usually eat me alive and the last thing I want is my wedding piccies showing red blotches everywhere or me scratching myself silly! What shall I wear - a wedding dress that will trail in the sand or a short tea dress? We're not taking any witnesses or family with us - just me and my man. I hope it will be romantic.
Can anyone offer any advice/hints/tips to us?
We're having a celebration when we return so that family and friends can join in and share our happiness. I feel like such a lucky girl! :)

i went to maurtius, 5 years ago! bring lots of fun stuff to do. it was really quiet and theriputic at times. Most people in the usa dont know maurtius, its not a place we promote over here because of lack of knowledge. When i went i was in the U.K. and my friends and i decided to go for a week. BUt when i got back i went to a travel agent and several never even heard of it. Its almost as rare as turtle island.

I am amazed. I would have thought it was well known in the US. The information and details I have managed to get have been mainly off the net and it really does look amazing and really romantic. Are you from UK or were you visiting? What made you decide to go to Mauritius then? Did you have any problems with mozzies? As you can probably tell, I am a bit obsessive about this!! Ha ha.

well its a great spot, lush beaches and nice weather. I was living in the U.K. for a little wile and the mate i was staying with asked me to go along. Mozzies arent a problem at all, barley notice. We took a whole trunk of sports equipment, tennis racquets and soccerballs, volley balls, ***ping gear. i do reccommend taking plenty of bug spray, sometimes early evening those suckers are crazy, so we would build a fire and spray fogger. "stay with in the force" lol but water is so blue u can see at least 5 or more feet down. We snorkled for so long, and went scuba diving one day, was so much fun. i do think its a great spot
