Hi! I am new to this forum and need some advice. My wedding colors are plum, eggplant & wine with silver accents. I have bought alot of flowers in those colors as well as other decorations. The problem is that the reception site I have booked just remodeled and put in a Native American print carpet that is predominately red and blue with a little bit of yellow. Oh, and the chairs are blue. Do you think that all that color will clash?? I thought about renting slipcovers for the chairs or renting white chairs. I still have to work around the carpet. Any ideas would be great!

Don't worry about the carpet. Only weirdos with foot fetishes are going to be looking down all night.

I know my reception venue is all ivory, gold, red. JUst rent the chair covers and linens. That along with your flowers and other decorations should pull away from the tribal theme. I have no idea why places don't decorate their ballrooms in a more neutral fashion.

I have a chair problem too...we are having our reception in a fire hall (which we got for free, so we cant really complain)...it has all the tables, dishes and chairs...my colors are periwinkle, white and silver and the chairs are brown wood with bright orange cushions...we have to rent linnens anyway, should we bother with chair covers? or is it not that big of a deal and just forget about it?

well I know my butt will cover a whole chair, so will a lot of other people's - I guess I wouldn't worry about it and just make sure that the chairs are pushed in under the table so that you can't see the cushion :)
