My fiance and I are looking for a perfect location for our honeymoon. We are pretty active so we want to go to a tropical island where there are enought activities for our 10-14 day stay. Our honeymoon will probably be in July (next July, I'm a big planner) so we don't want to be in a climate that's too hot. Can you recommend an island, and give some details as what there is to do and where to stay? Also, any other tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I loved Maui! We even stayed an extra 6 days. Lets see my husband and I stayed 13 days on Maui and we had plenty to do while we were there. I for a company that I booked most of our activities through; Kevin was awesome! Oh Keven was who we booked our activities through. Here is his website...

He doesn't have the rain forest hiking on there but if you wanted to do that he would book it for you. It was great we had everything paid for 5 days before we went. Through Kevin we booked...
Sunday, May 01, 2005 --- HANA ADVENTURE TOUR --- VALLEY ISLE EXCURSIONS, INC.

Tuesday, May 03, 2005 --- GROUP SURF LESSONS --- OUTRAGEOUS ADVENTURES

Wednesday, May 04, 2005 --- AM MOLOKINI / TURTLE TOWN SNORKEL --- PRIDE CHARTERS

Thursday, May 05, 2005 --- HALF-DAY WEST MAUI HIKE --- HIKE MAUI

Monday the 2nd was our wedding day.
Tuesday, May 3, 2005 --- we also went to the Ole Lahaina luau.

Since we didn't plan on staying the extra 6 days we didn't have anything planned but we did go bottom fishing which was fun.

Places to stay... well how much do you want to spend? The Royal Lahaina Resort... http://hawaii-maui.big-city-hotels.com/royal-lahaina-resort-hawaii-maui.html
is a great place to stay. We stayed one night there in their suite (wedding night).
We walked the grounds of the Grand... http://www.grandwailea.com/
This place was a dream! We agreed that if we would have stayed there we probably would have never left the grounds! They have a bar in the the pool! you swim into a semi cave and there's a bar! Oh and the place was huge! and gorgeous!!! anyway there my two suggestions.
Both places you can walk out of your room and the beach is write there. Well there you go. John and I had a great time! :D

Here's a better web site for the Grand Wailea...

Thanks so much for your reply. That is very helpful. What do you think it would cost to do everything that you did and to stay at a hotel for 10-14 days? Also, do you think I will need to rent a car or was everything close by? Thanks again.

We rented a car and we are glad that we did. We rented a 300m so it cost us a lot of money for two weeks but that was our splurg. The activities that we did cost $1400.00 but we had his cousin with us the whole time we were there and his parents the first week we were there so these prices have atleast one extra ticket add and the Pride of Maui had 2 extra tickets so it should be cheaper for just the two of you. The Fishing trip was expensive for the 3 of us it cost $450.00 for 6 hours but we had fun. Now we stayed in a timeshare all but one night and that was spent at the Royal Lahaina Resort (in their Best room) so that cost me $420.00...Well worth the money! They have rooms for less just give them a call, (808) 661-3611. I loved that suite it was just awesome! Now if you want to stay at the Grand wailea they are going to be expensive, probably about $420 for their standard room! I know that their penthouse is $12,000.00 and night. John & I said that we would probably go and stay there some day. Hey even if you don't stay there you have to atleast walk the grounds it gorgeous! The plain tickets were $637.20 round trip. All in all we figured this is are wedding/honeymoon so what the H*** lets live it up (within reason). Have fun and good luck. Remember if you go to Maui it's good to make friends with the islanders... you don't want to be on their bad side. Oh yeah and there is a great inexpensive resturant called "Big Wave" in Kihei great food and the staff is really nice. Wow there's so much more uummm well this should be enough for write now. Talk with you again. :D Oh yeah I our wedding pictures our posted in my Journal (Melinda & John) that is if you want to see them. we were married on the beach about 5-10 minutes away from our condo that we stayed in.

My friends went to Jamaica and loved it! They said not only is it absolutely beautiful, but the people are so friendly and happy all the time. They have some wonderful pictures.

My fiance and I are planning to go to Costa Rica. We want to see monkeys and butterflies and turtles and beaches...

Speaking of, does anyone have a good recomendation for travel arrangments? We haven't decided how we want to book it yet.
