My sister was originally getting married August 6, 2005. They have moved their wedding to October 6, 2005. She really wants her wedding colours to stay the same. They are pale pink, shimmery/glittery white, and platinum silver

However, she doesn't think this goes with the fall theme.

Here are her bridesmaid dresses: http://www.edenbridals.com/product_info.php?products_id=584
she's still deciding between the colours cotton candy (this is the one shown) and rose petal (the pale pink on the colour chart 2nd row, 1st colour)

Is there any way pale pink, shimmery white, platinum silver can be incorporated into a fall wedding?

She was thinking maybe pale pink, chocolate brown, and shimmery white could work for fall if she couldn't make her first choice work.....what do you think?

Any ideas? she loves pumpkins and gingerbread which is kind of fall...although gingerbread is more winter...but neither really work with the pink theme.

thanks in advance!

Why can't she have a pink wedding with little pink decorated gingerbread houses and white pumpkins. I think she should have what she wants. As long as the dresses are season appropriate, why does color have to matter? There are people out there that say everything in a wedding has to be tied into a theme and color scheme. I'm not one of them. I don't have a theme, I have what I like. It is her wedding and if she wants pink, white, and silver, I say go for it.

Those dresses are very nice by the way!! I think she should do whatever makes her happy. If she wants pink dresses, then why not? It's her wedding and she shouldn't have to settle for something that she doesn't like just because the season has changed.

I agree just because you have a FALL wedding does not mean you have to do a FALL theme.

She can definitely keep her colors the same! She doesn't have to succomb to the fall colors because they're outside :) There are so many colors during the fall anyway, any colors will match. My sister in law had light pinks with a brick red accent (I wasn't sure about it when I heard the colors she chose) and she wore a blue velvet wedding dress - I couldn't believe how the fall colors actually MADE all these colors just blend so well.

Oh I think pinkand chocolate brown look so pretty together. I have several outfits that incorporate those colors. I think it would be a nice choice for a fall wedding.

Update girls!

My sister now really likes the idea of brown, shimmery white, and pale pink. I think her reasoning is that she can incorporate gingerbread into her wedding if she has brown as one of her colours.

What do you think looks better?

option 1: pale pink, shimmery white, and gingerbread brown
option 2 : pale pink, shimmery white, and silver (although she's still not sure how to incoporate the silver...i was thinking pink, white, and silver decorations on the gingerbread)
option 3: pale pink, shimmery white, gingerbread brown, and silver

opinions please :)

thanks so much!

I think option 1 is best. I don't like it when things are TOO complicated. This will allow things to tie together better too.

I agree that option 1 sounds best. If you get too many colors it becomes kind of busy and starts to detract from the the other stuff.

1 or 2, but definitely not 3.

I actually like 1 and 2, especially 1. The hot colors this season are browns and pinks so the pink and gingerbread would fit right into that. I had a photographer tell me that one of the prettiest weddings she has ever done was brown/pink for the colors. She showed me pictures and they were absolutely beautiful.

Madeline, I am at work right now, but when I get home I will try to find the pics I had saved with wedding stuff in the colors from option 1 and I will post them. They look good together, are in high fashion right now and typically are colors most people can wear. I think those are great colors.

I'm not a big pink or brown person, but I really like the second option. My second choice would be option 1. 2's a little more summer/wintery, technically, but who cares? I'm not sure where you live, but here in Rachacha, we're already chilly and occasionally seeing snow in early October, so wintery themes (gingerbread; sparkly snowflakes) work fine.

Also, brown, pink, and the combination of the two have been really big fall colors, fashionwise, for the past few falls.

Thanks girls! You're really helping! For those of you who asked, I live in Canada and it starts to get chilly around mid-late october!
