What is the "proper way" of doing place cards? How will my guest know what table they are sitting at when they come in the reception room. I'm kind of clueless on this, if you couldn't tell. Ideas that are a little different are appreciated too. Thanks!

YOu can buy standard seating cards, you can either name them individually of for a couple, or by family That is up to you.
A couple ways of doing this is either, having all of your seating cards on a table at the entrance of the reception hall in alphabetical order so they're easy to find and it will tell them what table they are seated at.
Another, easier way is to have a nice picture frame with a list inside of it, for tables and who is at them, or again an alphabetical list of your guests and the table number they are at.
I've also had someone with a list, asking the guests their names, and showing them where to be seasted, like an escort.

I just heard of a person putting a list of all people who will sit at the table on each table so it was sort of a scavenger hunt to find out where to sit. I have a lot of kids in my wedding and thought that could be fun and the woman who told me about this said she enjoyed it too.
