Hi there, I was wondering does it matter what the cake topper is made out of? Of course I would like for it to be porcelain but the "cindarella prince charming" cake topper is way to much ($400). Does it matter whether they are ceramic or china?

I don't think it matters what your cake topper is made out of. Mine is acrylic, but looks like glass. I'm just glad i won't break it....LOL! Most people aren't going to study it and say "well that's only ceramic". ;) Find something you like (and that fits with what you can afford to pay) and go from there. Good luck! :)

Holy crap.....$400 for a cake topper? Man, I'm in the wrong line of work.

Ours is a cute penguin couple- Jen has a thing for penguins. Cost us $25 plus shipping.

payge is right.NOBODY is going to study the material.and if?? toppers ***e in all different materials. as long as you don`t go for a plastic one(urrgh) take what ever you both like. anyway do not spend $$$!!

I have been talking to a lot of people about weddings they've been to, their own weddings, their favorite and least favorite parts of being at weddings...the best advice i've gotten so far was from a friend who recently got married...he said that the biggest mistake they made was worrying about the cake. He and his wife spent 3 months deciding on a bakery, finding a type of cake and frosting, and spent $75 on a cake topper...he said nobody notices the cake unless there isn't one there...

for our wedding cake topper were going to have a miniture boquet of the one i'll be walking down the isle with. And once the time comes for me to throw the boquet i'll be using the cake topper for that:) Kill two birds with one stone:)

I have been looking for the perfect cake topper and have not had much luck yet. Some of you already know we are getting married on top of a mountain and it will be a two hour hike. I want to find a cake topper with the bride and groom dressed up as hikers. I did find one I love, you can send your pictures and have it made to look just like you, but for $2000....come on, I would have to be crazy!! I found another but it looked cheap. It was just not the right one. If anyone sees anything like this let me know. I would really appreciate it!!!

I don't think we're going to have a cake topper. It just doesn't mean a whole lot to me, and I''ll just collect dust. I'd rather have icing flowers or bows, I think. The boy doesn't care...to him cake is cake! :)

Here is a link from where I got mine from they say they make custom cake tops. These are glass; mine was not custom but it personalized with our names and doves & rose. It cost $75.00 with shipping.
