Have any of you been to Cancun, Mexico? I heard it's really nice there...if you stay in the right places. Anyone going there for their honeymoon?

I went after I graduated. (six years ago, so it's been a while!) It was beautiful. We went in June I think and the wheather was perfect for the whole week we stayed. I'm sure ya'll will be looking for different activities than we were, but that shouldn't be a problem. It was wonderful. Oh, we stayed at the Tucancun. It was very nice. It was an all enclusive package.

I went there two years ago and we had a great time! We stayed with the Palace resorts, which is basically 5 or 6 different hotels all over Cancun and you can go to any of them for dinner or to hang out for a day no matter which one you are at. We stayed there for 10 days, 5 days at Beach Palace, and 5 at Adventura Spa Palace (no one under 18 allowed, but the beach wasn't as nice). Moon Palace is also really nice and they are all-inclusive. The food was also really good, we just got sick of it after 10 days. Cancun Palace was my favorite though because it was really nice and it had the best looking beach! They also serve you drinks while your on the beach! You will have an awesome time.

Cancun is great! Beautiful beaches, even living here for a few years now my jaws drop at the 'kitsch' colors when you see the beach and the sea.
The Hotelzone is split into kilometres. The party zone is at approx. km 9-11, the nicest part of the beach is from km 11 upwards. The beach up to the partyzone is lovely but you may find seaweed there (also the only part where you have a sunset on the beach)
Buses run 24/7 and cost 6.5 pesos p.p. Taxis are expensive in the Hotelzone and its cheaper to wave down a taxi than to take a standing one or order one from the lobby! In downtown Cancun (safe - I live there!!) there are also some nice restaurants and shops. Roots is a favorite (retaurant and bar) which plays live music (some excellent bands!) and several other places and shopping malls. Cheaper than in the Hotelzone. Taxis in downtown cancun cost 15 pesos anywhere downtown. Don't let the taxidriver try and rip you off - most will give it a go if they can! Its easy to take the R1 or R2 bus into downtown and then just take a taxi. Hope the tips will help a bit, have a great vacation!

I went there last Nov 2004 and had the best time!!!! Jump on the bar hopping tour that takes you to all the best bars and nightlife...it's cheap and sooooo much fun. Beaches are beautiful but with the hurricane last year it has left the coasts with hardly any shore. The waves were literally crashing on the steps of some hotels.
