 Any unique ideas as how to GET a car other than a limo? I was thinking about renting a car, but there aren't any fancy cars that the rental places rent that would be worth anything.
Limo would be fun to share with friends, no trolley service in the area. School bus? I do have a carriage/bugy that I could get but could only do from the Church and couldn't go into "the city".
I have heard of someone who contacted an antique car club and they got all dolled up and got the wedding party, a car for each couple but where would you find out those people?
Could you rent a car from a car salesmen for the night- which is where you'll find the fancy cars- anyone have good unique ideas?
THANKS!

Check with your local chamber of commerce - they'll know what kinds of clubs and organizations might have something like this available.

We've thought about a bus to shuttle people from the hotel to the wedding/reception and home that night. That could continue the party from the reception to the hotel, some hotels even have busses you can rent.
As for the antique cars or other sports car, I was going to ask some friends to borrow their cars for the bridal party. In the end we decided to jusst drive our own cars because the wedding and reception are at the same location and no one will really see us coming or leaving.
My suggestion is just ask around for people who have unique cars and see if they would lend one to you for your wedding.

I guess you could hit up a salesman. Some dealerships let you take a car that you are interested in out for a test drive without the salesman or let you take it for 24 hours. It won't work for something super expensive, like the Dodge Viper (no test drives without a down payment!). But I think they'd have to think you were very serious about buying the car. Unless you know a car salesman that would be willing to loan you one.

I'm actually going to get a big group of my friends (we all have sports cars) and have my car out front, and we're going to drive in a line, almost like a funeral procession, and have cop escorts.

Have you considered a horse & carriage? There are more than just the 'Cinderella' carriages out there. If you google 'carriage rental' and then your state, you should come up with a good start on where to look. Also, the cost is comparable to a limo, but the effect is more memorable, to you and your guests.
This is also 'car show season'. Look in the paper, and hit some of them. Usually, if the owner rents out their car, they'll let you know. If they don't, they would be one of the best people to point you in the right direction.

That is a fantastic idea. I wonder if my Fiances' Step-dad would consider doing that for us with his Corvette club.
