Well Ladies, I am now officially a married woman!!!
This is how the day went:
My bridesmaids showed up on time to get their hair done. While talking to one of them, who is the mother of my flower girl, she mentioned having to get a bustle for my flower girl's train. Mind you that they live in another state so I emailed her the style number I wanted for my FG's dress but was never able to physically see the dress. I was a bit puzzled because I could have sworn that I specifically chose a dress without a train but maybe I just thought it didn't have one. We go on talking and then she mentions a haltertop. Now I know it's the wrong dress! Her dress was supposed to match mine and now it didn't. My BM kept apologizing and trying to figure out how the signals got crossed but at that point there was nothing much to do other than grin and bear it. Everyone had their hair done and they looked beautiful. My make-up was done in time and it looked flawless. My brother had to go to the dress shop on the other side of town to pick up my shawl that they forgot to put in my garment bag when I picked up my dress but he made it back in time. The limo arrived in time and the photographer's did too. Oh yeah, to back track a little. All of that talk about being too nervous to eat is a bunch of bs. I had three eggs, bacon, toast, orange juice and a muffin for breakfast! Back to the way the day went. When we got to the church exactly on time I was ready to go down the aisle when our wedding co-ordinator at the church tells me that the ceremony musician is late. (I should have known when she was late for her audition but I gave her the benefit of the doubt and I hired her anyway.) When she finally showed up twenty minutes late, she ***e straight up to me to apologize. I told her just to go play and she did. We went in and the ceremony went off very well too. The ringbearers were a little restless but it was pretty much to be expected.
I've got to go back to work. I'll add the rest later.

Did I mention the same BM went to drink some water in the limo and stained her dress with watermarks for the rest of the night? It was only a watermark and I don't think it will show in the pics, but we'll see. I was more freaked out about the ceremony musician because our priest had specifically told us we would have the church from 2-3pm for mass and 3-3:30 for pics and no longer because of the 4pm confessions and 5pm mass. My husband and I had selected the scriptures to be read and had planned on a full mass. He specifically told us if someone was late that the mass would get shorter and shorter and if it was really late, we would say only our vows and be done. I love my priest and the sermons that he gives so all that is going on in my mind standing there at the back of the church is that the most important part of my day, the actual ceremony is going to be ruined because I didn't have the patience to keep looking for a better ceremony musician. I was tearing up when I asked the wedding coordinator to go ask our priest who was in the other room with my husband if he would please not cut up my ceremony because of the musician. She must have relayed my appearance to him because he ***e out of the room to assure me I would have exactly the ceremony I wanted and I did. The rings were a little hard to get on our fingers because the sweat from our nervous hands made them difficult to slide on but it was beautiful nonetheless. We took less pics at the church because of her tardiness and went about on our way to the reception hall. The cocktail hour out on the lawn of the resort was great. The weather was wonderful and we had an amazing view. From what I got to taste at the cocktail hour (a piece of cheese and 2 crackers) the hors d'ouvres were good. We took some more pics and went inside for the wedding party announcements. We went from that into our first dance. We had taken dance lessons and choreographed to our song. The dj started too soon and my husband was lost. I had to kind of snap him out of it to start him moving but we ended up cancelling our entire choreography and winging it with what we remembered from class. No one could tell supposedly so I guess we did alright. I did actually eat my dinner, I insisted upon it. The food was awesome. We left the reception (not the resort) while everyone was still eating so that we could get some pics out on the beach at sunset. It was such a blast! I had so much fun and we danced all night. I got compliments on my quilled table numbers and everything. It was beautiful and the photographer got some gorgeous shots that I can't wait to get back! If your weddings go half as good as mine, you will still be thrilled! My father behaved and didn't bother my mom at all. He made it through our entire dance. I even got to dance with my husband's grandfather that ***e all the way from Germany! It was truly spectacular and we are heavily blessed! I told everyone at the wedding that I could not have made it without you girls and your advice and encouragement. Thanks again!!! :D

I wish I hadn't! I pre-paid the account because I didn't want to be dealing with money on my wedding day. When the ceremony finished she tried to come up and apologize but as I stated before, she had already eaten into my picture time and all I wanted to do was talk to my family, so I blew her off. She asked if there was any way she could make it up to me and even had the nerve to ask if I needed a musician at the reception! She said she had written down the wrong time and that she thought the ceremony was at three. I told her that she had previously assured me that she would be there by 1:30pm so that there would be music while everyone was being seated. To top it all off, she sounded horrible. It was almost as though she had a cold. If she did, she should have called to warn me so that we could switch to instrumentals because my husband and I were at the altar ready to laugh at some of the notes she was missing. She even forgot to sing one of the songs and the priest had to speak it out. She was a mess but at least the scriptures and the sermon was beautiful. The symbols of unity went well and the ring bearers made it down the aisle to daddy. The great thing is that when you are up there at the altar, it's like you really can't hear anyone else in the room. It's not dead silence, it's more like a calm in the crowd. I could hear the kids but it was almost muffled. What a crazy mess it was. The last of my family leaves town tomorrow and then I can relax a little more.

I'm so glad your wedding went well, it sounds like it was the night of your dreams and it's encouraging to know that because you had alot of help from this forum, that it was a great, memorable evening. If there's anything you forgot to mention about your wedding night, we'd all love to hear about it. Don't forget we are all anxious to see pictures of you guys all dressed up for your big day! It would be nice to see how your reception site was decorated too, since reading about it and seeing it are two completely different things. (I know I've said this before but I'll say it again...)Congratulations! MRS. Maybride lol. :)

Congratulations Maybride! I am so glad to hear things went well (for the most part)! Please don't forget to share you pics with us when you get them!
Congratulations, Maybride!!! I am glad everything went well and you finally got to have the day of your dreams. You had a lot of help from all of us but it was well worth giving every piece of advice. That is what this forum is about -- giving and getting advice on how to plan a wedding.
You are aware we all want to see pictures when you get them from the photographer .... RIGHT?

I'm so happy for you Maybride!!!! Definately stick around and give the rest of us pointers, ok? :p
The one question I have for you .... now that your married and you will not need help planning a wedding does this mean you will leave us here? You know we could still use the advice.

I feel kind of out of place here because I am no longer actually planning a wedding, but I can't seem to tear myself away from responding to a lot of the threads. Maybe I will break away gradually and not try to go cold turkey! LOL! It would be too hard. I feel like I have gotten so much out of these forums, I would like to give some back.

Well, all of us will eventually be married. Maybe we need to find a place for married women to talk. LOL. You know we can talk about everything. Planning for the first child, preparing the new house, etc. I will have to look and see what I can find.
