So my wedding is in the summer 2006. However my favorite flower is a daffodil. They only bloom in the Spring. How can a make a botique with daffodils, and what kind of flower goes with daffodils? Would that look dumb to have a spring flower in a summer wedding?

You can use silk instead - if that's an option, you can have daffodils at any time of year :) You can order them from a florist out of season but it'll cost big bucks most likely...You can use any flowers you want at any time of the year and it'll look great. You're not held to seasons for your favorite flower :)

Silk flowers are a great answer to the inseason/out-of-season supply & demand dilemma. As for what goes well with daffodils, ranunculus, peonies, lilacs, carnations, roses (there are some cool silk ones that look like they have dew on them), lily of the valley as a filler makes a romantic bouquet. I used to work for Hobby Lobby in the floral department so know a little about design. Catch a 1/2 silk stems sales and keep in mind that the roses esp. come on bushes and so you get a lot for your silk flower buck.
Hope this helps!! :)

So I had my FH look through a book that had pics of flowers in it and i had him pic out the one that he thought was the prettiest. He picked out an Amaryllis (I'm not sure if I spelt that right or not???). Is it possible to have more than one kind of flower? If so does Daffodils and Amaryllis go together?

amaryllis goes with everything - just make sure to coordinate your colors and things will look great :)

Hi there,
I'm a floral designer, and in my experience, yes, daffodils are usually only available in late February/Early March. However, ask your local florist, they may have a supplier that can get some any time of the year. You'll just have to special order them. You may pay 2 or 3 times as much as regular, but daffodils are pretty inexpensive to begin with. My shop will sell a bunch of 10 for about $3.49 when they're in season. You may even pay $8 or $9 for a bunch, but that's not bad - this is your wedding, and you should do your best to have your favorite flower!
As for what other flowers will go with your daffodils, that would depend on the color scheme of your wedding. Are your bridesmaids all wearing yellow? Then I would stick with other yellow and white flowers. If you're investing in the off season daffodils, I would try to stick with keeping the rest of the flowers in season. Ask your florist what their suppliers carry that time of the year.
Just keep in mind that you may not want to have daffodils in any table arrangements. When cut, they discharge a gooey substance that is toxic to all other flowers. If the florist is going to make the arrangements the day of your wedding, and they'll just be thrown out in a few hours, it'll be fine, but if you're planning on letting people take the table arrangements home, I would stick with other yellow flowers.
You can keep the daffodils all to yourself, because you'll be the princess on your special day. :)
P.S. It would definitely NOT look dumb to have spring flowers, or any flowers for that matter. You can carry holly berry if you want. It's your wedding! Do you YOU love.

You can really have as many flowers as you would like as long as they go good together. I am sure the daffodil and amaryllis go together. I have heard that the amaryllis will go with just about any other flower.
