Doing floral arrangements (fresh) yourself can be done, but you are in for alot of work. I suggest buying a couple of arranging books and reading them thoroughly.

www.onlinewholesaleflowers.com, is a GREAT place to get flowers, it's free delivery for orders of $200, and they come in overnight.
If your wedding is Saturday, have these flowers delivered on Thursday, immediately open the boxes, and put the long stemmed flowers into a bucket of ice. This will keep them from opening before they are supposed to.

Make your arrangements, and put them back into the cold cold water.

Saturday before the wedding take them out and just gradually increase the temperature of the water. IF you would like your flowers to be more open for the ceremony and pictures, about an hour before the ceremony place them in warm to hot water. This will shock the flower and they will gradualyl start to become more open.,

I don't suggest you get the flower kits from that site, they aren't very good and there is no instruction as to how to put them together. YOu are much better off doing it yourself.

The flowers from Online Whilesale Flowers are Terrible!

I got married two weeks ago and ordered flowers from "Online Wholesale Flowers". What a nightmare!

Only 90% of the flowers arrived on the day requested and those that did arrive were either crushed, brown, moldy, or wilted. I ordered 10 different kinds of flowers and 80% of them were in terrible condition. Some you couldn't even touch without all the petals falling right off. I immediately called the company to tell them what had happened. They said it was normal for the flowers to appear in bad condition but that putting them in water for 24 hours would perk them up. That was NOT the case.

I asked if I should return them and they said to take photos. I asked about the 30 white roses that did not arrive and they were unable to tell me what had happened.

The next day I went to the local farmers market and bought $200 more worth of flowers. Much more healthy looking flowers, bigger bunches, and the same prices! They would have even let us pre-order. If I had only known.

2 days after the wedding I called up Online Wholesale Flowers to tell them that the white roses had arrived a day late, brown, and wilting. They claimed to have sent me an e-mail to let me know the day before they were going to arrive to tell me they were going to be late and if I didn't want them late that I should have replied. I NEVER received this e-mail. The only e-mail I recieved was from the shipping company the day they were going to arrive alerting me of the tracking number.

They also told me that the photos had to be dated and e-mailed to them within 24 hours. When I called the first time this was definitely not mentioned!

The flowers were 80% unusable (cost $350) so they offered me a $15 credit on my next purchase. I will NEVER order flowers from Online Whilesale Flowers again. They said that they hadn't gotten the photos so it was assumed I wanted them. I told them that I was going to contest the charge on my credit card and they be***e IRATE. They informed me that 80% of the time they get all the money that they are owed and that their policies protect them. (Read the policies--- you have no rights!). I still haven't finished the paperwork but I probably will be forced to pay. It seems like they have this problem all the time.

All in all it was a terrible experience. The last thing I wanted to deal with 2 days before and after my wedding. Their personnel were so rude and hard to get a hold of and I'm still not done dealing with it.

Try a farmers market, Costco, or the supermarket if you want cheap flowers. Sometimes it is criticial to see what you are going to purchase and to have real people there to deal with your concerns. Do NOT purchase from Online Wholesale Flowers!

Dispute the charge with your credit card company - save the pictures and don't fret too much - your credit card company will go to bat for you - even if its a debit bank card with a Visa/MC logo, Visa and MC will go to bat for you. I'm so sorry this happened to you! This is so why I'm going with silk - the main reason being my bridesmaids and a few others are way allergic

A friend of mine will be helping me make my bouquet, bootneers, and corsages. I have a odd question. Is it customary to have a flower for your photographer? I would hate to think a bootneer would be getting in his way, but I do want to be proper about it. What is considered the right thing?

I have never seen this at any wedding - nor have I ever been given one when I have done photography.

Thank you. I was not sure what I should do.
