Well, we took a look at the chapel/hall last night and it is sooooooo neat! It has stained glass windows, a cathedral ceiling with exposed beams, very warm and cozy. It is pre-decorated so we won't have to do any of that.

The hall, though, is quite small and while it will accomodate most everything, it won't have enough room for a 5 piece to set up. :( Soooo, plan B. They have an awesome 5 CD sound system with stadium sound, a Karaoke machine, etc, mirror ball, twinkle lights, etc and you can rent it to use for $25. That beats the $800 we had budgeted for the entertainment. So we will ask a friend to man the sound system for both the ceremony and the reception and pay them $200 to do it. With 5 CDs programmed and a 3 hr. reception, there should be much jockeying of discs to be concerned with.

All in all, a very good value. $300 for the chapel for 2 hours, $300 for the hall, $100 for the minister, $600 for the food which includes roast beef, a sandwich tray, a fruit tray, veggies/dip, chips/dip, the 1st champagne toast, coffee, punch, sparkling grape juice and we will pay for soft drinks on our tab and all hard liquor will be a cash bar. Quite reasonable compared to everything else we looked at.

They also provide all the reception hall decorations which consists of squire mirrors and ivy bowls with floating candles and flowers in your colors, do all the setup and cleanup. I can't find a better deal here in Omaha NE.

Wow, you really got a steal. I hope everything works out. I guess the only decorations you will need are the bridal parties flowers. What are you going to do for the flowers? Do you plan on having a photographer or videographer? What are you going to do for the wedding favors? I'm sure there are still things you need to plan that might cost a pretty penny. However, you have got the most expensive taken care of -- the reception.

We are using the decorations the chapel has, which are off-white and therefore, very bridal and don't need additional flowers. The hall has centerpieces in myriads of colors from the different weddings they've done and they had lavender which is the predominant color in my bouquet. Our colors are lavender, peach and coral. Lavender roses, peach ranunculus and coral calla lilies.

We are having a photographer take digital photos-we get the memory card and can put together our own package for $700. One of David's stepbrothers has offered to video****.

For favors, we are setting out favorite childhood **** ie.: :D

mini etch a sketches
slinkies
mini checkers
jacks
hand-held games (like the doodle thingy where you doodle, lift it up and start over again)

coloring books and crayons for the kids
playdough
etc :o

I can get most of this stuff here in town at Oriental Trading co. which is very reasonable. Their web address is www.orientaltrading.com
