Knowing myself, I won't be posting too many journal entries but I felt a little braggy today so hear goes...

In September 2000, I transfered from one college to another and since the course curriculums are different at each college, I was forced to retake some courses in order to graduate. Because of that, I registered late in a communications class and as such, Roger and I were teamed up together along with two other students. We had introduced ourselves and I thought he was pretty cute. He also confessed that he had a crush on me from the day we met. Only one little problem... He thought I was about 20 years old, and I thought he was 22! Truth of the matter, we eventually gave each other's age and there was a 6 year gap. He was 2 months short of turning 18 and I was 23 so that's where things ended.

We remained friends thoughout our years of study as he and I were taking a few of the same classes together. A week before his 20th birthday, he asked me if I would join him and a friend of his at the restaurant to celebrate his birthday and I agreed.

Needless to say, his friend didn't stay at the restaurant very long and left Roger and I alone to fend for ourselves. To this day, he swears it wasn't a date. Anyway, we hit it off and I'm very proud to say, he was old enough to snatch him away from his mother ;).

Gee, I read this over again and the way I wrote this story scarsely does our meeting any justice. Oh well. :p It's a nice little story to me. :)

My fiance and I have 12 years between us, but we didn't start dating until I was 20 (he was 32)... I totally agree that the age difference isn't a big deal when you are both adults. Congrats to you, c_cheff! That was a cute story!

Six years is nothing. My fiance and I have en eleven year difference. I just turned 26 and he will turn 37 in July. There are a few months out of the year that he is closer to my mother's age than mine.

Oh, I forgot to mention... A friend from high school married a guy 19 years older than her. She was 20 and he was 39. I think that is a bit too much of a year difference, but if you are in love and happy, what is an age?

My brother and his wife are 13 years apart and she has a 15 year old son, whom my brother has adopted as well - I think mental and emotional age is way more important than physical age.

I agree. My fiance and I are 12 years apart. You see I have no problem with the 19 years between my friend and her husband... It was the first guy she met and first guy she dated, but it was the changes I saw in her that were little strange. She went from being really scientific and not believing at all in religion (she thought the Bible was written by a bunch of bored knights) to being strictly religious. It was just a red flag, but she is happy so I am happy for her. The age difference didn't bother me... It was the changes in her that did.
