Well most of you know me but I decided that I needed to write so I'm writting about my FH & me.

We met in 1989 as kids, so that's what? 15 years ago. Never dated just friends. I moved from Southern California to Northern California Nov. 16, 2002. My Adopted mom was taking me to Target on the 17th when she had mentioned that John (my FH) was back in town and single... Well about the time she finished that sent. we start to pass by a house when she realizes he's there. She tells me to pull over at this house to say hi. So I did and he remembered me (amazing) anyway we exchanged numbers and away I went. My adopted mom just would let it go she kept at me saying stuff like... why don't you call him and ask him to show you around town. She says I'm too busy to spend all that much time with you so you should call him. Okay fine! I called him about 2 days later and asked if he wouldn't mind showing me around town; John was more then happy to accommodate. :D Well from that day on we have been together; matter of fact I don't think that we have even spent a day (besides work) away from each other. I guess my adopted mom had some wierd insight about us being a great pair.

So here we are 2 1/2 years later and getting married May 2, 2005! My FH has made it possible to go to Maui to get married. We are going to have his mom, dad, cousin, and our friends Red, & Michelle there for the wedding and then when we return from Maui we are going to have a reception for our other family and friends, but that's not until July 16th b/c the place that we want to have it at is completely booked until then. Oh well it will give us to time to come up with the money for the reception. The reception is a Luau/beach theme; BBQ buffet, beer, wine, soda, seashells everywhere! Beach Balls ALL kinds of BEACHBALLS; we plan on having a layer of beachballs on the floor. Our drink containers will be baby pools with ice in them, with 2 beach chairs next to them and some beach towels... I'm sure i'll have people ***ping out but the drinks.

I attached pics of the wedding site in Maui also my wedding dress and John's shirt.

Okay everyone know what has happened since the last time I posted to this thread so I won't go over it again. ;) My ex MOH was the that was supposed to be doing my hair  well I guess I'm up ****** creek! NAH I e-mailed my wedding coordinator in Maui told her the situation asked if she could help me and well yeahhhh she set me up with a lady that is going to come to the condo that I'm staying at and is going to do my hair!!! I asked about fresh flowers for my hair and she told me NO PROBLEM. I just can't stop smiling right now! No the question is, is $85.00 a lot to have someone do your hair for your wedding or is that average? I don't usually get my hair done so I'm not quite sure. I don't think that I would care if it is a lot of money b/c I let my hair do what it wants so it really doesn't like to listen to me :p . Like I said before I'm in a silly mood so please forgive me.

Your hair sounds just like mine. Heck, no it's not a lot of money to look absolutely stunning on your wedding day. After all look at all the money you have spent elsewhere for your wedding. You are going to want the best picture to remember this day by and you cannot get that with hair that will not listen to you.

That's true... bad hair! :p I want to go NOW!I want to sit on the beach and play with the sand. I want to see the wedding site up close and personal and see the flowers and well EVERYTHING. Can you tell I'm getting just a little excited?

$85 is definatly not a lot to have your hair done especially considering the stylist is traveling to your condo, I spend more than that every 8 weeks to get my hair done, so 85 sounds like a good deal to me! I'm anious to hear all about your wedding and hawaii, I know you guys will have a blast!!

Do you know the feeling when you are so excited that you just can't sit still? well I'm starting that whole wiggle in you chair thing at work and the I'm going to clean house thing b/c I can't sit still!! I'm just getting more and more excited as time goes by. I just hope that everything turns out nice. Having someone else put together your wedding is kind of scary but I'm sure my coordinator will do a great job... I hope  . Thank you for responding.

No, I don't think that is a lot. I have long, straight brown hair, and every time I've had my hair done up for an event, it cost me at least $65 (not including tip). I didn't have fresh flowers, and I just went to a Bo-Rics or something nothing fancy... $85 sounds very reasonable to me especially since you are having fresh flowers in your hair. It sounds like it will be gorgeous!!! Can't wait to hear how it goes!

Mine is going to cost 90 - and that's with me going to the salon! I don't think its too much to pay for something that you'll remember forever like that :) I guess I could go somewhere cheaper but I love my stylist - its funny - I went to the same person for 12 years (even when I lived 1200 miles away I would wait and schedule my hair appointment for when I ***e home to michigan for her to do it) and recently she stopped doing hair -so she referred me to this new person that I LOVE - she even switched salons and I followed her. She just knows my type of hair :)

I WISH I could find someone like that. I have curly hair (and since there are so many other curly-heads on here) I know you guys all know you need someone that knows what they are doing. I have never found a hairdresser I am thrilled with. So I am definitely planning a 'trial' run on the hairstyle before the wedding.

I'm still doing a trial run - I mean, I LOVE the hairstyle on the girl that's wearing it in the picture, but what if makes me look like a dork, ya know? Its not how I have ever worn my hair before - not even remotely close heh. last thing I wanna do is look like a dork on my wedding day.

I can't do a trial run with my hair, I wish I could but I really don't have the time  My hairstylist is coming to the condo at 3:30pm May 2nd the Limo is picking us up at 5:45pm to take us to the wedding site and then it's a sunset wedding. All and all I will have to live with my hair no matter what it looks like. I have faith that everything is going to turn out fabulous! ;)

You have a wedding coordinater arranging for your hairstylist though right? I am sure they have worked together before and your coordinator wouldn't recommend her if she didn't know she would do a wonderful job.

I'm sure it'll be great :) If a wedding coordinator is suggesting her, she must be pretty good :) Not to mention, if there's aspects you don't like about what she might be doing, etc - tell her! Have her change it, etc. :) Don't be afraid to speak up about it :)

Aloha everyone!!!!

I just wanted to come on and say hi to everyone. The wedding was just beautiful! :D There was light sprinkle during our ceremony and the Islanders say that we were being blessed by the gods. We love it soooo much here that we have extended our stay until the 13th of this month. I have a lot of pictures and I can't wait to show you some. My hair turned out fabulous; my Husband said that I looked like a Greek goddess. Everything was/is perfect. When you all have your wonderful day.... SMILE, Have fun, and enjoy EVERY MINUTE! I'll be back on the computer Monday the 16th. Thank you all again for everything!

Well I'm back from Maui and I wish I was still there! Tomorrow I will be getting my pictures put on a disc so I can show you our wedding. From the 2 weeks of being in Maui I have over 400 pictures so I will try to pick the best ones to post.

Ladies I had the wedding & honeymoon of my dreams!

There was 5 of us John, his mom, dad, & cousin, and me. we all got picked up by a limo at his parents house on April 30, 2005 and headed to the San Jose airport. Our plan left at 5:30pm and arrived in Maui at 9:30pm (now remember Maui is 3 hours behind) so lets see that makes it about 7 hours on a plane. No problem when you're going to Maui though. ;) We got all settled in then went to Denny's... hahah Denny's in Maui I thought that was funny.

Anyways May 1, 2005 cousin, John, & I went on the road to Hana tour which took us about 8 hours do. That was a great tour though; very informative on the hawaiian culture and the island itself. I believe we got back from the tour around 5pm or 5:30pm enought time to go and grab a bite to eat at a resturant called the Five Palms; it was suggested to us by are tour guide. All 5 of us were sat on the patio area were we were surrounded by tropical plants and a great view of the beach so we could watch the sun set. Very nice setting, the food was great, and the prices were... Oh my god I'm having a heart attack; well atleast it seemed that way to me. $300.00 for 5 ppl I guess it could have been worse!

May 2, 2005 - WEDDING DAY! :D

Our marriage Lic. appointment was at 8am in the morning; so off we went looking for what we expected to be a court house or a business type building. What we found instead was someones home that had 2 signs 1 saying Marriage License and the other saying please park in driveway. I got a kick out of that... I guess it doesn't take much to amuse me. ;) Okay that took about 15 minutes tops, so now what? We went and picked everyone else and went to breakfast and yes I had plenty to eat. We all went shopping at Hilo Hattie and then back to the condo to meet the hair dresser... that was great! DeeJay was fabulous she pulled most of my hair up in barrel rolls and the hair that was left down was curled; se placed white flowers all over and my hair was done. I put on my make-up; got dressed. We all got into the limo and off we went to the wedding site (the beach). As we drove the limo driver told us more about the hawaiian culture and his experience on the island. He was a really a nice guy. Okay Now we are here; everyone gets out but I was told to wait so they could get a picture of John helping me out of the limo (pic turned out nice). We smiled alot and had a wonderful ceremony with the sun setting in the background. after the wedding ceremony was over the limo took us to Bubba Gumps for dinner then John and I went to our suite at the Royal Lahiana Resorts. The Suite was just gorgeous but I'm going to have to tell you all about that tomorrow. talk with you later.

I left off at the Royal Lahiana Resort...

WOW what a gorgeous suite! John carried me over the threshold of our suite, he was being so cute. After we got through the doorway (& he set me down) are jaws dropped to the ground! The entryway was black and white marble, as you walked down the hall there was a small bathroom to the left also in marble, the livingroom had a couch a coffee table and a TV oh and a slider that had the most gorgeous view of the ocean, the bedroom had a four post bed and two different sliders each w/ a balcony one had a full view of the ocean and the other had a great view of the valley, attached to the bedroom was the master bathroom (NICE) Again with the marble EVERYWHERE! it had a Jacuzzi bathtub that was surround with large mirrors, a walk in closet (that you could live in), a toilet and a seperate shower. the place was gorgeous! Sorry NO details about our wedding night. ;)

May 3, 2005 - John & I went to Breakfast at the buffet down stairs from our suite. Then we walked along the shore line for a while and then met up with his cousin and went to our surfing lessons. I had a great time surfing and I did better then I thought I would. Someone was even out on the rock pier taking pictures so we have a disk of all of surfing. after surfing we had about 4-5 hours to Kill so went and talked with the locals and shopped and had lunch , then we went to the Old Lahiana Luau which was really great.

May 4, 2005 - we went snuba diving and I will have to tell you about that at a later time.

May 4, 2005 - We all were suppose to go on the pride of Maui (boat) but unfortunately Cousin ***e down with the flu or something and was unable to go so it was the parents and us. I felt bad that cousin wasn't able to go b/c he really was looking forward to snuba diving. Anyways the 4 of us arrive at the docks at 7:20am, did all the check in thing, took pictures, and boarded to boat for a take off time of 8am. here is there web-site so you can see a little of what I'm talking about:
http://www.prideofmaui.com/pride/

We took the Morning trip to Molokini & turtle town. It was awesome! Molokini is the horse shore looking island on the top left corner of the pride of maui web site. Anyway We paid for our snub gear and our underwater photographer and away we went. At Molokini they divid us up into our snuba groups, we were group 2 so we snokeled until it was are time to go snuba diving. Finally we're up and ready to snuba. :D They give you a reulator (well mouth piece) that is conected to a long hose that runs to the tank that floats above water on a raft. It's like scuba diving but you can only go down 20 feet and you don't have any gear on. We saw a lot of fish and the water was crystal Blue! after about a half an hour of snuba diving we all got back on the boat and then off to Turtle town. OH I LOVED TURTLE TOWN! The water wasn't as clear b/c you were a little closer to shore then the last location but oh wow it was fantastic! We did go snuba diving at this location as well and I'm soooo glad that we did. As soon as we get down to the 20 feet we say a HUGH turtle and a couple seconds later we saw another then another and I don't mean that in the distance we saw some turtles either. I had one turtle come so close to me it look like he was going to kiss me! :) I got a picture of him too, I think that he like the looks of the bright yellow ***era I had up to my face and he wanted to get a better look. I don't it sounded good though. We saw about 6 different turtles while we were under water the snokelers only saw one turtle. after our wonderful experience under water we were able to snokle for a while and then back on the boat we went. When we got back onto the boat we had a BBQ and some Mai-Tai's. It was a great experience and if Sosomeone were to ask me what I would reccommend doing this would be #1 thing on a list of many. On the way back to the docks we watched the underwater video that our photographer took throughout the day (we bought the video). Actually we had about 4 water ***era and the photographer who took pictures of us and made the underwater video for us. LOTS OF PICTURES! Anyway we got back to the docks around 1pm so we still had plenty of time to go shopping and then out for dinner. Great day! Okay that was Wednesday of the first week we were there more to come so please stay tuned. :D

NYjerseygirl - I read your Journal so I must coorect myself by saying your husband not your FH. ;)

May 5 - We (cousin, john, & me) were supposed to going hiking in the rainforest but since we were staying another week we decided to relax and push the hike to another day. It was a good idea b/c we were whipped! So relaxing day here we come. After we putts around the condo for a while we got up and went to our usual spot for brunch "The Big Wave," They have great food with good prices so we ate there almost everyday. We drove to Makena beach and just hung out. We had a nice BBQ for dinner back at the condo. We had steak, corn on the cobb, and fresh mixed veggies that were cooked on the barbie, and we opened a bottle of wine that we got on the road to Hana tour (we stopped at the winery) and WOW it was really good. It's called Maui Splash it's pineapple and passion fruit...uuuummm soooo GOOD. here is a link if you'd like to see what the wine looks like:

If you click on tasting room you can see were they took us; it's a cute place.

May 6 - Early morning (like 6:30am) we all go to Denny's for breakfast; we had to go that early b/c all the guys were going skeet shooting and us ladies wanted to eat with them so we got our butts out of bed. While the guys were out shooting John's mom and I went shopping (trouble :p )! Guys you never want to let your mom and your wife go shopping together! ;) Anyways I got some stuff for the reception; here is a a couple things I bought....

I loved this ABC store it was right across from our condo! After shopping moms and I just relaxed at the condo and had a nice talk. When the guys got home we all decided to go to our normal sport for dinner (Big Wave) and had a nice dinner. Well that's really the extent to those day.

May 7 - The parents last day in Maui. We went down to Lahaina and had lunch at Cheeseburger in paradise... Goood food! Walk Front street in Lahaina for most of the day then ***e back to the condo. I'm going to have to pick this back up later.
