We just discovered something about our venue site, which is the local senior citizens activity center, which we selected because the upstairs ballroom will be beautiful when the current renovation is completed later this year (one of my family friends is responsible for the renovation). It's previous role was as a Jewish synagogue from the 1920's to the 1960's! Isn't that something? So that means we're having our wedding in a church and our reception in a (former) synagogue. I just found this rather interesting and rather amusing. :D But then again, I'm easily amused and all.....

Steve,
That is pretty amazing! I would try to get pictures of it when it was a synogauge and now, then you can put all 3 stages in a scrapbook. It will be your piece of history!

That's definitely a thought....I know the rabbi of the current synagogue in town....I'll ask him if he knows where I can find pics from when the SCC was still the local synagogue. Thanks for the idea!

Yes Steve that is pretty interesting. I would do as suggested and get pictures of when it was a synagogue, senior center, and then of course you will have pictures for the reception.
I must admit though most guys are easily amused.

That is so neat! When we went looking for a venue, I wanted somewhere with some history. You guys weren't even looking for it and the history found you!
