I'm trying to find out how to make those fancy bows for pew decorations. Can anyone recommend a good website that shows the method for this?

I wasn't impressed with the bow designs on Martha's website and we don't have a Michael's craft store near here unfortunately.

I can tell you how to make a poofy package type bow with as many loops as you want, it is soooo easy.
It depends on the type of ribbon you use, easy if its two sided,
1st select the size of the over all bow for example 12 inches across.
Next lay out 12 inches of ribbon flat on the table in front of you and fold the ribbon back on top of that layer and go back and forth for the exact number of loops you want on each side, for example do 5 layers back and forth without cutting the ribbon for a 2 loop bow on each side in this case each side has 2 6" loops. This method will leave you with two 6" "tails" for your bow you can always go back and add extra ribbon behind the loops for longer tails.
Next , pinch the ribbon stack in the middle and secure the "pinch" of the bow with wire or smaller ribbon, if the ribbon is really wide or thick you can cut v notches in it to "gather" it and then poof the loops out. This works really well with 1-2" wired ribbon. If you don't get the pinch just right, hot glue a dried or silk flower in the middle if it gets messy- also looks very pretty with tulle which is super cheap and easy to make these bows with.
Good luck- email me if this isn't too clear and I can email you some how to photos! good luck!

Steve,
I found directions and a materials list for pew bows at www.offray.com/pewbows.html. I have gotten as far as making the roses for the pew bows and those turned out very pretty and was really easy to make. I was actually surprised at how easy the roses were to make. I hope this helps you. I searched the internet for directions and these are the ones I chose since it had all of the material list and directions for each pew bow.
Good luck!

You can make all kinds of pew bows. I found a website that gives away some free directions. You have to fill out a form though. You can find the website at Pew Bows Just tell them what kind of pew bow you want to make. I made my bows with tulle and satin. They ***e out pretty nice. It was a little tricky making the loops. It took some practice.
