[ Ok We set the date  We have his tux, My future sister -in-law is paying for the cake, now all I need is to have my bridesmaids agree on the dresses, find a dress for myself and suits for our sons, Does anyone have any ideas where to find a nice dress at reasonable price? And tents? And decorations? :p

you like cutting it close! :D what are you're colors? Do you have theme? You asked for tents so is it an outside wedding or reception or both? How much do you want to spend on a dress for yourself? :)

It is doable - I planned my brother and sister-in law's wedding in 7 weeks. You have to get your invites out and soon - so if you haven't ordered them, you'll want to - they typically go out 6 weeks before the wedding. As for finding a dress- check David's Bridal - they're having their 99 dollar sale. Check your local yellow pages for rental companies. As for decorations, hit your local craft stores and paper product stores. You're really going to have to hustle - people may have already rented things you need so I'd get there quick if I were you. After hours formalwear (a David's bridal partner) rents tuxes and suits. Check them out as well I guess. Since you're in a crunch, you might have to settle for paying a little bit more, or not getting exactly what you want.

Reecey gave you some really good ideas. I'm wondering why you set it so close and didn't give yourself time to plan. What type of a wedding are you wanting and what are the colors? What time is the wedding? Where is the wedding -- is it in a church or outside?
Definately get started with the invitations. I don't know if you would really have time to order them so you might want to consider making them yourself. Definately go and start checking out bridal shops in your area. If you have a David's Bridal close to you they would probably be the best place since they have a lot of dresses to try on and you can actually purchase them and take them home that day if you find one that fits right. Why do you need tents? Usually you only need to have these if it is an outside wedding or reception. Check any of the rental places in your area. If you can find a chain rental place then they might be able to help you out since they can request an item to be sent to them if they don't have one available. Your future sister-in-law might be buying the cake but she is going to need to know what kind of cake your wanting and how many people it will need to serve. With the suits for your boys you might be able to go to a Dillards, JCPenny, or Sears. Considering it is Easter time you might have a better selection and find some that match. Other than that you might be able to rent them from the formal wear shop reecey suggested. It really depends on if you want to have the kids keep the suits or not.

I am planning a wedding in 2 months also. I am half way there and the wedding is May 29. I have had a bunch of problems obviously. the biggest one has been getting inviations. The first place I ordered (Paper Parlour, Atlanta) from did not put in the order for a week and so I did not get a proof for 10 days. We had a big argument about it and the store owner said he would not do my invitations. Then since i was so late, I called the company who made the invitation that I wanted and asked them if they did rush orders. They said yes at 25% extra. I went to a stationary store (PAces Paper in Atlanta) to order the invitation and they told me it would be 50% extra-- 25% for the invitation company and 25% for themselves!! This is a huge rip-off because the store doesn't have to do anything except place the order like they normally do. So I gave up on ordering from a store and found a great website called www.finestationary.com. They have millions of invitations including the one I had tried to order from the stores and they were fast and helpful.
If I were to do it over again, I would have just gotten invitations printed up myself. Paper Affairs which is a chain will print them for you and even do thermography.
My second problem is a minister to marry us. We are getting married at home and do not have a regular church. So far I can't find anyone to do the ceremony. Does anyone know about the ministers who advertise on lne? are they any good. I have been turned off by their websites and fees which are high. Help!

To solve the problem of bridesmaids'dresses, I just told my brindesmaids to wear black. that way they can find their own dress in whatever style and they will still lookthe same almost. It solved all the problem with needing 3 months to order dresses and people try8ing to decide on a style

Check your yellow pages for an ordained minister that performs weddings - it sounds like you're in a crunch and you might just have to pay the fees. Ask your family members if anyone knows a minister that might consider doing your wedding - they may have a neighbor or a friend that is ordained.

I am getting my dress made by a local woman - after I got many many referrals to her... She says it takes her 4 days to make the dress without any beading - you might look into getting your dream dress made especially for you ;)

Our oldest daughter got married 10 years ago as a seven-months pregnant high school senior. I had exactly 26 DAYS to pull the whole thing together for her -- inviations, church, flowers, reception at our house, catering, cake, the works! AND I did the whole shebang for around $1,000. Our 2nd daughter is getting married in September and even though they are "paying" for the wedding, I know I've already spent at least half that much on odds and ends. The best advice I can give you is to reach out to your friends. The bow-making day turned into a chick party with four or five different friends. Two or three people lent us tablecloths. One truly sainted friend ***e over and stayed till two in the morning helping me to hem the outfits that both of our daughters were going to wear.
Again -- don't panic. Remember to breathe. And most of all, remember that the truly important thing is the marriage, not the wedding.
