Anyone you want could give you away, but I think having your mom do it would be really nice. And if you really think about the idea of giving away the bride, she would be the most appropriate. Brides do it all kinds of ways...it could be a man like their dad or brother or uncle...or it could be mom and dad....or just mom...or the bride alone.

Your mom could most certainly do it - if she's the one you want, go for it! I've seen it a couple times - it was very very beautiful. Your mother would be more than proud to do it, I think :)

My Dad passed away at Christmas and I wasnt sure what to do. I decided who gives a $%^# its My moment. So I decided to ask my Mom. I am from a huge family I have 10 siblings and Our best friends are our BM and MOH. So I am walking the isle with my Mom and I bet my Dad will be carrying me all the way. ;)
Asking your mom is sweet. But it is whatever you decide.

I agree, asking your mom would probably make her feel very special. If you are still not sure ask her if she would want to or if she thought so and so would be better. I think I am going to have both my parents walk me down the isle.

You can have anyone you want give you away. Whether it is a close friend of the family, an uncle, or your mom it's ok. I have even see weddings where the bride has a child from a previous marriage and the child gave her mom away.

I'm actually doing it very non-traditional. I'm having my mom and dad walk me down the aisle and give me away :) thats because I felt like my mom was being left out and I thought it would be nice to have them both do it.

I think anyone YOU want is acceptable to walk you downthe isle. It is your day and you want someone you care about to give you away so pick the person who can do that.
