any ideas?? ask a friend to stand in wedding??

Does anyone have any ideas on how to ask a friend to stand in my wedding, without just simply asking them. I would like to give them something (maybe a flower that I am going to have in my wedding, with a poem or verse attached to it). I am trying to find a unique way to show them how much they mean to me, and how much it would mean if they would stand beside me on my special day. Please help!

In my opinion, just asking them shows how much they mean to you, but if you want to go further...

Invite them over and surprise them with dinner or a party. Have a poem on their plates or have the party be a "Will you be my bridesmaid?"

You could put together a small photo album or scrapebook showing how much they mean to you. The last page could be a poem or letter asking them to be a bridesmaid.

I'm out of ideas... I hope that helps you think of some though...
