Well since justen and i live in georgia, and we are having our wedding in florida (all of our families are down there) and well i have to go down to florida this weekend for my moms baby shower (yep i'm going to be a big sister, for the first time by the time the baby is born i'll be 21 crazy huh) anyways while i'm down there i made an apt with www.amorewedding.com its so beautiful from the page, and its in st. augustine which is about 30 minute drive from where most of our families live. i'm also going to look around at differnt sites as well, once we figure out the place i'm going to see if they have tables and what not or if i'm going to have to go rent them.

I was looking on the knot and i saw bells a pack of 24 for 6.95 and i thought to get 3 packs of them, and put peoples names on a card, and tie it to the bell with a ribon so it will be a favor for them and they can ring their bells when we leave to the car, do you think its too cheap to be favors, i dont think it is but i dont know how the guest will react for that to be their favor, i hope people will like it and it can be a little keepsake for them...

also for centerpieces on the tables i was thinking this last night at work when i had NO TABLES all night practicly (i'm a waitress at the moment) so anyways i was thinking taking glass bowls putting water in them and getting the floating tea light candels and also put red and deep orange rose petals in them (those are going to be our colors) and also decorate the tables with the petals as well, does everyone think thats enough for a decoration on the table (the center piece the flowers on the table and the bells).

Also, my friend jessy who lives up here in georgia with me offered to go to work (we work together in the cafe) and talk to melanie our manager and ask to put a money tree up on the counter and put (help our waitress get married) to raise money for the wedding. i think thats pretty rad, and it would probably go with melanie (shes rad as woah).

and thats all i have for now :)

sorry it was soooo long.

I like your idea about the favors and no, I don't think that's too cheap. The point is not to go broke on the wedding so that you have a better start for your marriage. For my favors, we are doing personalized golf balls because we're getting married at a country club.
The centerpieces idea also sounds awesome, as it is what I myself am doing. But we are using buttercup yellow as our color for the flower petals.
Have fun and be as creative as you want to be!

Have you ever thought of giving the bells and cards to the guests as they arrive at the reception or have them on the tables where they are assigned to sit? Then you can add a little something like "ring this bell for the bride and groom to kiss" or "ring this bell when the bride and groom are near." A lot of people use the little bells for those very things. Then whenever the bride and groom hear the bells they know they are supposed to kiss or whatever you put on the card. Have fun with them.

Also, in regards to the floating candles, have you thought of getting the candles that actually look like flowers? They have them in all different colors and those might look better than the tea light ones. It will give the centerpieces a better look and will have them match with the petals and what not.

Just a couple of ideas. Other than those ideas what you have sounds good.

I agree that the bells as a "ring for a kiss" would be a great idea. The money tree would be nice too... Every little bit helps!

As for the centerpieces, they sound beautiful. I hate to rain on your parade, but there are a couple things to keep in mind with that. First of all, some halls require all flames to not be open burning (example: A long ****r candle must be enclosed in a hurricane glass cover). So if you have a hall, ask them about their policy. If you haven't found a hall, then keep that in mind as a question to ask them. Also, are you having children at the wedding? I would not want those in the center of the table within reach of a young child. However, if the table is large enough and the bowl deep enough, that shouldn't be a problem.

As much as I would like to say parents will be watching kids and nothing will happen... It only takes a second of inattention and there are a lot of things going on at a reception... Just my thoughts.
