I'm so anxious, even though it will be over a year from this date till when we will be married, i'm just so anxious and overwelmed. I bought a planner today and read it all over and all the details, the money, the time its so overwelming to me, thank goodness My fiance' Justen is as interested in planning as I am. I just dont know where to start, I started the list of who to invite, and he and i Decided it will be at his aunts house in their large backyard, which is great so now we dont have to worry about a ceremony site, and fees for that, so that deducts from the list of things to purchase. Money will be tight but this is our wedding and i want it to be perfect in all aspects, and I am planning on taking my time to make sure it is just right. We are thinking of a bright red and orange color scheme, I've thought about instead of a traditional white dress, wearing a Red Dress, a nice beautiful almost vintage style red dress, i've thought about my hairstyle, and make up, and justen is wanting black and white photos as well as color, he has an amazing ***era and an uncle who is good at taking the pictures, so hopefully thats that for the photographer, and thats what we know for now..Everything will fall together I'm sure.
If you read this it would be great if I could get some helpful advice on where to start and some calming words of wisdom, thank you.

You say it will be over in a year so I'm think February. There are alot of wonderful ideas on this site everyone is very helpful. I got alot of help on here myself. We all kind of stick together you will notice that. Have you thought about your favors? Let us know what youre looking for you know what style and so on. Good luck and congrats.

As mellissa said, it is overwhelming at first, and again when it gets closer to your wedding.... and i agree-you are off to a great start!! I think your idea of going with a red almost vintage style dress for yourself is a wonderful idea, and as a lot of people will tell you on here if it makes you happy-do it! its your day, so do what you want!!! and also as mellissa said, you will get a lot of help here, all you have to do is ask. all i can tell you for words of wisdom is do what makes you happy-dont try to please everyone else(well you can a little :) ) or you wont end up with the wedding you want(unless what they want is what you want). anyway, good luck in planning and congratulations to you!!!

Thank you for replying, we actually have been thinking of favors, i saw little wine charms, at first we thought about buying wine glasses for everyone but that can get a bit pricy if we bought for everyone at the wedding, so we were looking around today in wal mart and saw little small small champange cups (just favors, plastic about 3 inches high) but the base was large enough where we could still buy the charms, and stick them on the glasses, and justen saw these clear stones you can dye to any color and he thought of putting htem in the glasses, it would add up to a nice decoration, and a neat favor.
we've also been thinking of if we should still have it here in georgia where we live, or have it in florida where we use to live, all of my family lives in florida, and only a small portion of his family lives up in georgia, so we are back to figuring out where, we should have it at in florida, st. augustine is a nice place and a really nice hotel is right next to a gazebo in downtown st. augustine and you can rent out the area and it seats about 100, so thats a thought, i suppose it will all fall to plan.
this is kind of beside the fact, but does anyone know if that diet patch works or not? i was thinking about it, but i dont want to dish out that much money if it wont work, just wondering if anyone has used it, i'd like to loose about 40 pounds before the wedding to look really nice.
thank you everyone by the way my name is laura

Hi laura-i think the little champagne glasses are a cute idea for favors. i also think that it would be really nice in dt augustine in the gazebo(im getting married in a gazebo-im in michigan though) so of course i like the idea :D anyway, as far as the diet patch, ive never used nor do i know anyone who has, but i recently found out(dont know if you might already know this) that peanut butter is a very good thing to have around when you want to go on a diet. all you do is have a spoonful or two and it makes you feel full, so you dont eat as much at mealtime! i guess it works. but, if you are allergic or dont like peanut butter, it wont work for you. just a thought anyway. good luck!!

It is your wedding you two plan it together & things will fall into place. You do things the way that you both want not what others want. Traditional is not always the answer. ;)

Congrats to you and your FH. It sounds like you are already starting on the right track. And your FH sounds like he's going to be a great help. It is so much fun planning a wedding. When my daughter bought me my wedding planner I did the same thing. Read it over and over. I still use it for everything. I love it. Your year will fly by so fast. My FH propose to me on christmas 2003 and guess what? My wedding is in 6 weeks. :D

Laura,
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend trying the diet patch. I haven't tried it but I have tried diet supplements. Unless you plan to continue to buy them and use them (which is unhealthy and expensive) it is a waste of money because you will gain all the weight back.
I tried diet pills and lost 15 pounds. As soon as I went off them, I gained 25 though. Currently I am losing weight the correct way with Weight Watchers. The great thing about Weight Watchers is it is realistic. It is real food and teaches you how to eat healthy and live a healthy lifestyle. I know that this isn't for everyone, but it is working for me. You just have to be honest with yourself about what you eat and how much. It can be hard at first, but it gets easier when you see how great your clothes are fitting and how wonderful you look and feel! I just started in November, and I have lost almost 25 pounds. I had a little trouble around the holidays because of stress (death in the family, etc), so it would be more but I think that is still good. Also, what excites me is that I know it will stay off this time because I am doing it right.
Since you have a year to lose the weight, I recommend doing it that way instead of the fast and easy way... The fast and easy way (pills, etc.) are almost always only temporary. Plus, they can have deadly side effects.
I hope that helps.
Elizabeth
P.S. My fiance proposed in March of 2003. We are getting married this May, and I can't believe how fast time flew by!!! We have most of the planning taken care of... There are just a few details to work out such as decorating the church for the ceremony. My advice on planning is take it one step at a time. Really think about what you want before you see the vendor because they will sometimes show you so many things that it can be overwhelming. If you have an idea of what you want though, it makes things go smoother. Good luck and happy planning!
