I have some advice for all you ladies still looking for a reasoinable photographer. Look really hard and you can find a great deal. I got lots pamphlets from a lot of different photographers and the best that I had seen was $1495 for a full day of service, 225 4x5's in a preview box and 24 pages of 8X10's, 5X7's or 4X5's in a leather album. Well were on tight budget and I couldn't see spending so much of my budget on pictures though they are a very important part. Especially because they wanted 100.00 at booking, 447.50 three months prior to wedding and 547.50 plus tax on reciept of proofs.
So anyway my FMIL said that she would go out and help me look for a better deal (she has a friend who owns a wedding shop) and she found a great deal with a little foot work. The new deal she found for me is a personal photographer not one of the huge wedding businesses in my area. THe prices she's giving us is 600.00 and that includes 250-350 4X6 color photos, One photo safe proof album, Full day of wedding including rehearsal and rahearsal dinner and a free 10X13 either as a collage or shot of bride and groom (framed). Plus her amounts for reprints are awsome compaired to the other place.
4X6
Her- 2 for a 1.00
Other- 5.00 Each
5X7
Her- 5.00
Other-8.00
8X10
Her- 8.00
Other- 12.00
11X14
Her- 18.00
Other- 60.00
Wallets
Her- 1.00 for a set of 2
Other- 2.50 each

** Plus she only requires 200.00 down and the remainder at the rehearsul.

This seems like a really good deal! I don't know if it is technically a deal but I'm pretty happy. Just wanted to tell all you ladies to keep looking cuz there could be a great deal right infront of you.

I just wanted to post after browsing several forums. The equation of cost of service and quality is not always assured.
I am an exceptionally good photographer (it is difficult to say that about oneself) my clients tell me so and I have a commitment to providing exceptional service and quality. I moved into wedding photographer after originally training and specialising in pregnancy and baby portraiture. I was encouraged to attend weddings by clients dissatisfied by the services of other so called wedding photographers.

I love what I do and I charge a reasonable amount of money for the quality and commitment of my art. I was recently informed from two of my clients, after expressing their overwhelming satisfaction with my service and their beautiful images, that they almost didn't bookme because my prices were "almost too good!"

Please book your photographers on kore than their costings, check the quality of their work, their commitment and probably most important of all how they make you feel.

Happy weddings

No kidding - I think that I would be more apt to go with someone I've heard of either through word of mouth of a public advertisement that they PAID for - I mean, if you can't even afford to advertise and claim that you're a very good photographer, then I'd have to think you're full of it :)

Yeah reecey that is a good point. Most of the advertisers on here are advertising for free. What happened to getting an ad in the local paper?

If your too cheap to pay for an advertisement .... your too cheap for me to use for my wedding. ;)
