I have looked everywhere and recieved tons of advice, but still no real questins have been answered. My fiance and I would like to go on a Alaskan cruise right after our wedding in October. That would actually put us in November when or if we go on our cruise. Maybe the websites have not been updated or I am looking at the wrong websites, but this is probably the most frustrating thing I have gone through palnning this wedding. Everything else is going smoothly, but still no real facts on a Alaskan Cruise in November. Should I pay the extra amount and go to a travel agent or just wait and see what happens in the next few months?

Find a travel agency and ask them for advice. Maybe grab some brochures. An Alaskan cruise would be absolutely beautiful, but just remember it's going to be cold, especially on the water. I know that sounds obvious, but sometimes people forget. I used to live up there, and it was always funny to see tourists freaking out over the cold.

Good luck with your planning!

You are probably not finding any Alaskan cruises in November because the large cruise lines don't actually sail there in November. The season is typically from May to September. After that the ships go back to warmer destinations such as the Caribbean and Mexico for the winter. You might possibly be able to find a small charter company who sails Alaska in November but that will probably be your only option. Are you looking to only do Alaska or are you just looking to go on a cruise? Please let me know and I would be happy to help you!

Also, a travel agent shouldn't cost you any money. Well, I don't anyway....maybe some do.

I am going on an alaskan cruise as well for my wedding in August.. I also wanted to go later then that, but because it gets cold and the coves freeze where many port, they cannot cruise there. I would suggest going in the spring when it is gorgeous there. We went in May where we got engaged and the weather was 80's and just amazing. August is pushing it for warm weather we know. But make sure you go to Alaska when it is the warm weather you will be disappointed. We went to a travel agency and while it did take awhile longer then doing it ourselves online, we got better deals and the travel agency was able to book our flight, cruise and excursions for us faster and easier.
