I am currently getting married in November 2005, me and my fiance are fairly young to get married but we feel as though we are soul mates. How long before should you go to marriage counseling before actually getting married?

I think that most churches recommened at least 6 months. Or at least, ours does.

Most churches have a guideline for what they prefer. But what really decides it for you is you and the groom and your unique situations. My previous boyfriend and I discovered through six months of it that we were not right for each other and it would have taken three or more years to get there, if we ever did. My fiance and I are planning to attend at least six sessions, but because we already have discussed much of what is talked about, we do not think we need six months of prep time. It just depends on every aspect that needs to be considered. If life is pretty calm for the both of you, I'd say maybe six sessions at an hour each is plenty. But if there are a lot of issues, you might consider going longer. Hope this has helped.
