I live in Clinton, Ia and I'm looking for a reasonably priced DJ, Photographer and videographer. If anyone has any info please let me know. Wedding is in June 2005.

I am also looking for a reasonable photographer and DJ for the south suburbs of Chicago area. I can't seem to find a photography package for less than $2000 that has more than 10 pictures. Also I have not been able to find a DJ for less than $895. This is so frustrating! If anyone can help, let me know.
Do either of you ladies have friends or family members that can be used as a dj, photographer, or videographer? A lot of times people do not realize that they can get a better deal and quality if they go with a family member or friend. For instance, one gal that does photography has told my FH and I that if she is in good health at the time of our wedding that she will do the photography for us and get us the photos as a wedding gift. I would suggest to start talking to your family and friends about this and see if anyone comes to mind. Good luck!!

Fortunately I have been very lucky with these departments except for the photgrapher.. I have found a dj for $325 and as for video goes my FH uncle will film the ceremony and My uncle will film at the reception.. I too have not been able to find a photographer that has been under 2500 for their packages and I know we shouldn't skimp on the pictures BUT Im sorry there is just no way I can afford 2500 bucks on pictrues..... I am currently still looking so hopefully we will both find somethign very soon. unfortunately I am not in your area and you aren;t in mine so we can't help each other out But I can still tell ya good luck!!!
Have either of you ladies tried to go to a local college that has a photography department and asked about having one of the students do the pictures? Sometimes you will be able to find an advanced student that is willing to take the pictures and he/she should be willing to show you a portfolio of past pictures they have taken. I have been lucky and was able to get a photographer for about $2000. He does a wonderful job and also puts the pictures on a cd and does a slide show on dvd. He does have picture packages for less but does not include the cd or dvd slide show. Of course he has a small studio here in town and wants to make the bride and groom happy. Look for something like that in your hometown.

I am using a photographer out of Kansas City, MO. My wedding will be between 4 and 5 hours away, so she must be okay with traveling. (no promises how far she'll go though) All of her packages are unique to your wedding and situation, and she has pretty good prices. She is doing my wedding for less then $500. Try your local college for students who are willing to do this.
Also you can put disposable ***eras on the tables and let the guests take pics too. I've seen the ***eras on sale for as low at $1.99/each.
Have a family member or friend video**** it.....or get 2 or 3 video***eras and set them up around the room to catch things and then have one person walk around with one.
For a DJ, if you have a teenager who you trust and is willing, let them play DJ for the night. You can rent the stereo equipment or just use a regular stereo system.
We have a web site here called freecycle.org and its a pretty neat site. Its were you post things that you want to get rid of for free, and you can post things on there that you need. I'm getting my photographer and food servers from there. I've already "intereviewed" a few people and seen their work (photographers) and set a price of under $50 for them to do it all. Just a thought.

HELP!!! I need a videographer!!! I know photographers and dj's and how much they charge but I haven't found pricing on videographers!!! Can someone please let me know, I hate just calling around to places! I live in Chicago!

I don't know about anyone else, but we are paying $1,700 for our videographer...
Oh, and $2000 on a photographer is high I think. I will end up paying less than half that and still getting a LARGE amount of photos.
Have any friends/family gotten married in the last 5 years that you know? Who did they use? Ask around! That is how we found our photographer. He does it as a hobby but has been doing it for 30 years. He takes beautiful photos!
The other ideas offered were really good too (the students, ***eras on tables...)....
