Ok here's the deal. My Dad is an amateur videographer for weddings. He makes really beautiful DVDs and I really want him to do the DVD for mine ... but of course I don't want him behind the ***era for my wedding! Does anyone know if videographers would be willing to **** the footage and turn it over raw for my Dad to edit? There is also the option of having a friend or two **** for us, but that is of course riskier.
What does everyone think of this idea?

i think it depends on what you want. Is budget your problem? I know most videographers would charge for the time worked at your wedding, but it may be possible that they turn it over for you to edit. Only thing is, they may be worried about their reputation. You just never know. I would say, have a few friends **** it all with their own ***era, and then have your dad edit it. Have your friends try out filming different things before your wedding so you know how good they are with the ***era or maybe your dad could give them some tips. Depending how important a good video is to you I think should determine who you choose

I'm not too worried about the budget, but I wouldn't want to pay full price if they are not going to be doing any of the editing. But I realize that a videographer would probably choose to do another wedding if he knows he will be doing all the work and getting paid full price, as opposed to mine where he might have to give a discount.
We may have some friends that will help out. I'm not sure how good they are, but I think as long as the ****s are not too jumpy and capture the footage, my Dad should be able to put together a nice ****. Thanks for your ideas!

Where do you live? If you live in the Metro Detroit Michigan area, then I know a videographer that may be willing to help. His son is a good friend of mine. His prices are reasonable... If you need the info., I can give it to you.

It depends on where you live. But if you are around teh PIttsburgh area, I know a great videographer that would do that for minimal pricing.
e-mail maras_events@yahoo.com, and they can help.

One option that you could use would be to contact your local tv stations - some of the ***eramen there will do side work - they're professionals and would hand over the raw footage to you and do it reasonably. Just be sure to talk directly to them and not their boss :P
