Hi All,
We just got engaged and are searching for some wedding ideas. Ideally, we would like to get married in a warm place (Aruba, Jamaica, St. Thomas, etc) and preferable on a beach, however, we have come across sooooo many options that we are somewhat overwhelmed (and it has only been 2 days of searching).
We would greatly appreciate some help from anyone who has been through this.
Here are some sample topics we need help with:
1) Where? - Does any one have any suggestions for one place over another?
2) When? - As of now, we are pretty open on a date. We would like to get married in Summer 08 (and before the hurricane season).
3) Marriage license requirements - From our limited research, we learned that some places/countries require people to apply for a marriage license 2 weeks before the actual ceremony. Does anyone know which country has more lenient requirements?
4) All-Inclusive vs. Not All-inclusive - We are planning to have approximately 30 people at our wedding (22 adults + 8 kids). Do you think we should stay at an all-inclusive hotel or not?
5) Price - Thus far we found a wide price range on hotels, air fare, wedding costs, etc. What should a typical destination wedding cost? Are there any days of the week that are better to book than others?
Any other suggestions or tips??
