What is everyone going to do to decorate the cermony site?

The church we are having the ceremony at is really, really pretty and I dont want to take away from that by adding tons of columns and arches and stuff. So I plan on keeping it simple, but hopefully not too simple.

They have candelabras that clip to each of the pews ( 16 total). They are tall metal things with a hurricane glass on top. We must provide the tall ****r candle. They are $100 for all 16, which I didnt think was that bad to pay.

I think Im just going to put a bow and some silk flower on each of those.
That is about all that Im doing.

At the alter there are these two giant silk flower arangements that are semi fall colors ( burgandy and yellows). They'll work i guess, plus they are free with the rental!

Should I be putting more? I dont want it to look wimpy and undecorated.

I am in a similar situation where the 1800’s ferryboat we are having both our wedding and reception is are beautiful just by itself. I don’t want to take away from the stained glass or the lovely woodwork, so I am going with a simple bow made of tulle with one of my wedding flowers in the center of it. I will probably not do a bow actually, but will do more of a draping of the tulle and let it “fall” and then in the middle attach a single flower. That way it adds a little bit of “wedding” to the ceremony area without looking overdone or taking away from the boats natural beauty. SO my suggestion to you would be to pay the $100 for the candle holders since it is a GREAT price and add tulle or a bow to it and a single flower.

I am not putting many decorations up at the church. We are putting pew bows on the pews and having 2 large candlabras at the front with some flowers on then and a couple flower baskets at the alter in memory of loved ones. I figure we are only there for 30 minutes and people are there to see us. The major decorating will be at the reception hall
