I have 4 brothers, 4 sisters(2 step, one i just met last year because she was given up for adoption) and I have no idea what to do. my fiance also has a sister. my maid of honor is my cousin, and i plan on having my fiances sister as a bridesmaid and my sister who i just met as a bridesmaid. the problem is i am so much closer to my step sisters than the one i just met last year and i want them included in the wedding, in fact, i dont know why i chose the way i did. but, we are having an outside garden wedding and dont want too many people standing up for us. my fiance is having his 2 best friends stand up, and my older brother-hes good to go. but im not. my youngest sister is 4 and she is the flower girl and i just feel so bad not including my 2 sisters who shouldve been chosen first...is it appropriate to have them stand as junior bridesmaids with a small outdoor wedding? and also, without having junior groomsmen? also, where to my other 3 brothers fit in?

You can ask your other 2 sisters to stand up with you, too. It doesnt have to be an even # between the bridesmaids and groomsmen. if you chose to have them as junior bridesmaids, you dont have to have a junior groomsmen. you can do things the way you need and want them to be, you dont have to go by the rules.you can ask your other brothers to be ushers, if you dont have them already.

If you want to add your other 2 sisters to the bridal party, it is OK. If you want to include them but not as bridal party members, perhaps one can handle guest book duties and the other can do a reading.

You can have your other sisters in the wedding as well. If not as bridesmaids then have them help in another capacity as book attendant or decorating. Your other brothers could be ushers to help people to their seats. I am having 3 ushers at my wedding to help seat people and only a maid of honor and no bridesmaids and my fiancee is just having a best man.

thanks for all of your suggestions....im leaning towards having the 2 sisters who dont have roles yet as junior bridesmaids and one of my brothers to walk the 2 down the aisle(one on each arm) as a junior groomsmen. my FH is fine with this idea. and my other 2 brothers could show guests to their seats, pass out the bags of sunflower seeds(are theme is sunflowers, so we are using the seeds in place of bubbles or rice). let me know what you think.

Have you thought about having your step sisters do a reading?

koolade- I WeddingChannel.com has some readings you could check out. You could also consider some of you or your FH's fave authors' works. If you like Shakespeare there are tons of possibilties. We are including a piece from The Twelfth Night in our ceremony ( I think). If I see any readings on other websites, I will keep you in mind.
Readings can really be anything that you want them to be. Is there a favorite verse in the Bible that you like? Do you have a favorite poem? Anything like that will work. I know a lot of people that will use 1 Corinthians 13 from the Bible as a reading. Another poem that I hear a lot is this one:
How Do I Love Thee?
Elizabeth Barrett Browning
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
Here's some others I found appropriate for a wedding:
Wedding Vow
by Vaa L. Matua
On this day I do thee wed...
An oath for which others would die.
The light of my heart,
The joy in my soul,
The sparkle of life in my eye.
To you I vow honor
respect and compassion.
Any less, before God, would I sin.
Your champion of truth, devotion and kindness.
Let the path of true bliss now begin.
Though the road be uncertain.
let my heart lead the way.
For it's you who I live this life for.
As destiny scripts a future uncertain
By your side will I stay
.....EVERMORE.....
All Of My Life
by Jesse DeLance Sutton
All of my life,
I have longed for someone like you,
So warm and tender,
with a love so true.
You light up my life
with each passing day,
Now that I have found you,
I will never let you get away.
The beauty of your smile, and
the warmth of your heart.
The great inner beauty you possess,
is what won me over,
and did from the very start.
As I sit here and think of you,
the memories of how we met
are ever so strong.
You ***e into my life
at a time I felt so alone.
All of my life I've longed
for someone who would love me,
for whom I am and nothing more.
You captured my mind and soul,
so you, my love, you are the key
to my heart's door.
Each day we are together,
is another day in paradise.
Knowing I've finally
found someone to love me,
surely does feel so nice.
No more lonely days and nights,
for they are gone forever, never to come again.
Since you ***e into my life,
I have so much love to
give to you from within.
The birds are flying high in the sky,
singing melodies of love found for you and I.
My body, soul and mind
are yours until the day I shall die.
And even after then...
the memory of love we have for each other
will speak to us for all eternity.
And another page of love
will be written in history.
As days go by let's you and I
keep this love we have between us alive.
As the hair on our heads grows gray,
we will look back at these precious memories of love
with a smile.
There will be no one who
can take this love away from us.
Because in God and each other,
we will forever put our trust.
All of my life I have dreamed
of a love so true and pure,
like yours.
Now that I have found you,
throughout all eternity this
love of ours will always endure.
I know we both are human
and are prone to make mistakes.
All of our mistakes, we will work through,
for true love is our fate.
I am just a country guy,
from the great state of Georgia,
who loves you so much.
Each and everyday I longed
for your loving touch.
This day I pledge my love to you for always...
for better or for worse, until death do us part.
Our hearts will blend into one heart.
You and I will always be
the reality that dreams do come true.
All of my life I have dreamed of you,
Now my soul is at peace forever.
For you are here finally.
Anything like these or a verse from the Bible are appropriate. Search some websites like www.lovepoetry.com or do a search for love poems.
