I'm stressing out over here about dressing my ceremony party... I was wondering if I were to purchase all attendants dresses and suits could I consider this the "gift" I'm paying a pretty penny for these and they are not so outrageous that they can't be worn again.
(I haven't decided on this yet still weighing options) I thought of renting the outfits, but I don't want to be held responsible for damages...I'm stuck! Is anyone renting maids/groomsmen attire? and in the longrun will it save me money?

I know that in most cases, the mens tuxes are rented and the girls dresses are bought. If you do end up buying their dresses/tuxes for them, I think giving them as gifts is a good idea...I myself thought of doing that, until my bridesmaids automatically expected to pay themselves-and we found very nice dresses for a good price. So, now I have the money to buy them the jewlery they will wear or whatever really(I like things that are more personal)...hope this helps...good luck
Usually the bridesmaids will pay for their own attire and the groomsmen will rent their attire. I would think that if you would buy the dresses for your party then they should accept those as a gift. If they are willing to buy their dresses then get them the jewelry for that day.

I agree with nle. I have always paid for everything I needed to be a bridesmaid. So if you really want to buy their dresses, I would consider that their gift. But whenever I have been a bridesmaid, I have gotten something very sweet and personal from the bride. I would rather have a "keepsake" of some sort than a dress. One bride gave all of her party Lennox trinket boxes. Another bride gave each of us a snowglobe that related to a hobby or something we did together. Those mean much more to me than the dresses in my closet.
