Here's my story. My fiance and I met at a Celtic Faire. A year later he proposed at the same Celtic Faire. We've finally set a date of the same weekend of the faire and we had the idea of talking to the promoter to see if we could have the wedding there, somehow. My brother in law is good friends with him. It's a Renaissance type dress and the bands are awesome. So that is one thought. The other is a 40s theme because my fiance loves the "pin-up" look and the cool suits men wore then. I can't decide which way to go. I know budget plays big and I don't have any prices on either way. Just thought I'd ask around to see what others think.

I like the celtic theme because it is different. Both would be fine to do though. Do what your gut tells you.

I think you should go for the celtic since it has special meaning behind it. I think it would be very pretty and unique.

Thanks for the input! There are so many ideas running through my head, it's a good thing I've got a year and a half to plan!

Definitely go with the Celtic theme. It means more to you as a couple because of how you met, so I think it is perfect.

It sounds like you have the music lined up, and you can carry the theme through your rings, the menu, attire and invitations.

Good Luck!

Both ideas are unique so either would be excellent. Different than the norm.

So here's my idea. I'm contacting the promoter of the Celtic Faire to see if there is a space for our wedding. Food is all there, alcohol is all there and the entertainment is there as well. We'll see what happens. My fiance decided he wants a Celtic themed wedding but with my hair done "pin-up" style and the guys in the white tuxes and black bow ties. So we are mixing the themes!

As for the locale of the event, I kinda want it all contained where my guests are just that MY guests, not guests of the Celtic Faire. We'll see what happens!

I think mixing the themes is a wonderful idea. Not only are you getting the celtic which has a bit of meaning behind it but you guys are also going to get something a bit different and fun! Good luck on your planning hope all goes well.
