Where to begin......We've set the date for January 21, 2006, so we have quite some time. We've booked the reception place, but that's about it. I've been trying to come up with ideas for a wedding theme, and also the color scheme and I'm getting NO WHERE!! I want my wedding to be full of romance. Any ideas that anyone can give me, I would really appreciate!!

Congrats on your wedding. Do you live some place where there will be snow in January? You could work off of that for a theme and do a winter wonderland theme. Lots of candles and shimmery white decorations. I've always thought that red is a beautiful color for a winter wedding. One of my friends got married in the winter and she did red, white, and black for colors. It was beautiful. She also had a dress with a coat with fur (fake) on it. Hope this helps. Have fun planning.

You could do a romantic winter theme.. maybe use lots of "snowflake" type ideas. Some colors you could use are Silver, white, light blue, light green, lavender, plum, cranberry, ivy, gold, ruby, emerald, pewter, cobalt, navy, hunter green, or black. Flowers you could use are White poinsettias would be beautiful for a winter wedding along with other white flowers such as roses, calla lilies, carnations, gardenias, magnolias, alstromeria and snowball mums. You could get icicle lights and silver garland to decorate with. Any wedding is "romantic" and as long as you set the right mood, all will go well.

Thanks Girls! That sounds great.... I really like the idea of lots of candles, and my fiancee loves red.... I was thinking of seeing if a purple color looks nice with a shade of red, like a plum and cranberry.. I guess I'll have to go to a frabic store and play around..... If I can't get red and purple to go together, than I was thinking maybe a lavendar and a plum. The only thing with that is my fiancee hates purple and doesn't want to wear it. I guess I'll have to just play around with colors... Thanks for your help though!!!! :)

Your Fiance doesn't have to wear the purple. He could wear either black, silver, or whatever shade of white your dress will be.

I was going to suggest blue tones for your colors. You could do white flowers with silver accents in them.

I would keep your colors dark though. They will make the whole thing feel warmer even though it is winter.

I've used a jewel of the nile theme before, which can incororate an emerald green, deep red, and a very light violet. I know at first the colors don't sound appealing all together, but on the tables they look marvelous. Perhaps a light velvet crush cloth which can be rented from any fine linery. I don't know where you are from, but mosaic and lendables ship all over the world, and they have exactly that. Use plenty of candles, perhaps eifel tower vases with roses, greens, lilacs, and lillies, votives with tea lights maybe 6 per table, and three taller crystal candle holders with ****rs.
