My finace and I are making cd's with songs from our wedding and other songs that are special to us as wedding favors. I want to have more than just these for favors. Any ideas for low cost favors?

I've been trying to think for some cheaper, maybe do it yourself favors as well. I was thinking that maybe little silver bells may be an option.. You can place them around the tables for extra decor, but also they can be used to 'signal' the wedding couple to kiss. Add a ribbon around them, can make them personalized or just a generic word/phrase. Not sure how cheap bells will be, but I'm looking on Ebay and craft stores. Let me know if you come up with any other options!

Good Luck, it sounds like your wedding plans are coming along nicely!!

If you enjoy liquor filled chocolates these are really cute as a favor and they only run $.44 per guest (they might take more than one) I thought they were cost effective and also provided an option as opposed to just liquor. They might be hard to keep away from children attending, but other than that they are 20.00 a crate and #48 count (how cute is that crate)? lol!

I'm choosing this b/c I'm planning to limit the drinks @ my reception... just free toasting champagne, beer & wine till we run out w/ open bar...I think I'm gunna save some money there and the drunks! lol!

Wedding favors are really easy to make yourself and can are inexpensive. Several ideas that I have gotten from weddings I have attended and then of course mine are as follows:

1.) Around February hersheys makes the chocolate kisses and hugs .... for one wedding I saw the couple had taken a netting and put one kiss and one hug in each then tied it off with ribbon and put a tag on the ribbon that said "Hugs and Kisses from Mr. and Mrs. Miles"

2.) For my wedding I am going to take miniature flowers in the color of my wedding and use the miniature champagne flute favors as vases. I will use 3 flowers for each champagne flute. Then I am going to tie ribbon at the bottom of the flute. Not only can this double as a decoration but also a favor. I got the miniature champagne flutes at the local Michaels store on sale $4.00 for 24.

3.) People usually set out little dishes of mints on the tables for the reception. What I am going to do is take miniature dishes that I found at Michaels and decorate them up with flowers and ribbons to make individual nut and mint dishes. The dishes will again act as decoration and the guests can take them home afterwards.

4.) With the same dishes that can be used for individual mint or nut dishes I have seen people make individual candles in them. The candles can be lit at the reception or the guests can take them home for wedding favors.

Like I said at the beginning there are all kinds of ideas that you can make for wedding favors and still incorporate them into the wedding decorations. Just make sure you have a lot of people willing to help make the favors because they can be time consuming depending on how big of a guest list you have. The key is to have one favor for each guest.

Those are some really cute ideas!

One idea I've seen used is place the mints in a small plastic bag and tie the bag with ribbon and place at each place setting. You can usually find small bags at party stores or online, and are available plain or with patterns on them.

Thanks for the tip on the websites...they have really reasonable prices. I can't believe the price differences on some things I have seen. I hace learned you need to shop around. Something that is 2.89 on one website is .89 on another. Quite the difference when you are buying 150!
