I am having a medievil themed wedding and I don't know where to get a nice dress. The wedding boutiques around me don't have anything themed like that and I am kind of nervous to order from any old place online. Does anyone have any experience with any online places that will work out something to tailor the dress so that it fits just right and will make sure everything is the best quality and craftsmanship? I don't want to take any chances with my wedding dress. I want something beautiful.

Try Brides By Demetrios. While I was searching their site to see if they had anything like what I've got in mind, I did see some beautiful medievel styles, not many, but there are a few. Their web address is demetriosbrides.com. They also have shops all over the place, so maybe there's one near you. Good Luck!

Go with Bride by Demetrios. I got all my wedding attire there. They are the best, and if they don't have it, they will get it. They're wonderful!

Costume shops in your area may have something. Possibly a theatre group that's getting rid of old stuff? Look for Renaissance sites and magazines; they might carry what you're looking for. Good luck.

These people make some very, very cool dresses in various themes. They also make capes, kilts, and other stuff:

Go to the website called www.askginka.com
That's where I went to plan my wedding that I had last July. Everything I wanted was on that site.
I had also ordered my gown online through www.fairytaleedeavors.com. They had everything and they were so great to work with. I was so thrilled with my gown and it looked like that I spent a fortune on it.
Good luck

Try this place. The gowns are beautiful. http://www.kathrynandalexandra.com/
Plus, they have a wide variety of time periods. I'm having a similar themed wedding. This is also another great website. http://hollywood-costumes.com/ You can go to their medival/renaissance link and they have a ton of beautiful dresses as well. And they are reasonable. Hope this helps.

Contact your local SCA chapter (Society for Creative Anachronism). Not only will you be able to find people who accurately know what medieval garments looked like and places to obtain relatively authentic ones, but often, you can find some who are talented enough at making them that they might be persuaded to make your dress for you.
