Hello! I'm somewhat new.. I've been here for about a week 1/2. I've only been here maybe 3 times since I joined since there really isn't much action going on here.. hopefully it picks up a bit.
I'm from Florida - Moving back to Virginia a week after my wedding. My wedding date is this October 9th... wow! Less then 2 weeks to go! I can't believe it.

Im also sort of new myself. Been on here maybe a few weeks. Im also from Jersey. Jersey Shore to be exact, where in NJ are you from? Im getting married May 8 next year. So excited! :p

I am pretty new too. I am from Florida and planning my wedding for 3/19/06. I've been getting some teasing from friends because it is so far off, but I had my heart set on a location and it books up quickly.

I'm from Michigan too :) I'm not sure on the date now - it was supposed to be this past september, but was postponed due to the fact that there were 6 other weddings in the late summer/early fall in my family - I'm thinking probably this coming september :) The summer is too busy to have a wedding here and October-December is out for hunting season. The rest of the winter is too cold and spring- well - I got married in the spring the first time. September seems perfect lol! :)

i know what you mean. i am from michigan too. and my FH is hunting everyweekend so he said absolutly no wedding dates from october-dec. so i am also looking at september.

i always had my heart set on a spring wedding, it. Its my favorite season. i was also supposed to get married this past year(june) but had to postpone til this coming june-25th to be exact, which is technically summer, but that was the only date available at the reception hall i wanted, so had to take it. anyway...i think september weddings would be so nice too, that is prolly the most perfect time of the year(in michigan)to have a wedding. congrats to both of you, and where abouts in michigan are you both from?

I joined the board about a week ago or so. We are planning an August 27th wedding. We just don't know where to get married...here in FL in the lovely August heat in the middle of hurricane season or Michigan, where my FH is from.

SOM Z28....I am in Florida, too. The first thing we said when picking our date was NOT in Hurricane season. Especially after what we all went through this year. I work at a beach resort where we get a lot of people planning their beach weddings or lodging family there. I heard so many horror stories about ruined wedding days. One couple had planned their wedding for when Charley hit. They rescheduled and that is when Frances hit. If you are set on that date, I would do the wedding in MI. If not, I would change the date to a safer time of year when the weather isn't so unpredictable.
I'm from Arizona and planning a March wedding. I know that once in awhile it's a little chilly here during that time but I really want an outdoor wedding. The reason that I picked March was because of my girls Spring break and my mom can watch the kids while we are on the honeymoon. Plus, I want to get married before I graduate with my degree in May and before I have to take all of the state board tests for teaching. This way my name will be changed in time for the diploma and the state board tests.
I know I worry about cold weather but I am glad that I don't have to try and plan a wedding during hurricane season. I think I would try to find a different date or else hold the wedding in your FH hometown. It takes a lot of work to plan a wedding, so if it was mine I wouldn't be planning it in FL during hurricane season. Good luck with whatever you choose!!

Yeah, we are set on the date...and my mother has already told me she thinks I've lost my mind. Holding the wedding out of state isn't out of the question. Originally we wanted to invite just family and our closest friends...about 40-50 people...but now we are thinking just immediate family and maybe going to Hawaii or Vegas.
