View Full Version : Need help with finding flowers
I have chosen my wedding colors to be navy blue and silver. However, I did not realize how hard it would be to find silk flowers in navy blue. I figured that I would use silver ribbon in the flower arrangements and then use the navy blue flowers. My dress is ivory so I am also going to use ivory flowers instead of white. Does anyone know where I can find navy blue flowers? I have tried all of the craft stores in my area and am hoping that I won't have to go to the big city to find the flowers I need for the wedding.

If you do a search on the internet for silk flower arrangements, you will find a lot of places that sell flowers in many colors. You can also check Michaels, Walmart, Hobby lobby, ect. And if you still can find anything, you could paint flowers yourself. I tried to find a link to a place I looked, but it's gone. It was something like saveoncrafts.com. Ebay is a good place also. A lot of times, they will have ebay stores or links to thier own web sites.

Michaels has a pretty good selection of silk flowers.
Also, you can buy them online almost anywhere. http://www.wedideas.com does beautiful work and has navy blue and other great colors.

I love Michael's, but I found Old Time Pottery has less expensive flowers that look better. I love Hydrangeas. A stem of them at Michael's was like $6, at Old Time Pottery it was $1.50 and looked better!
I went to the local Michael's store and they told me that they never get Navy blue flowers in and that the easiest way to get Navy blue flowers was to spray them. I then went to some of the other craft stores and finally found some navy blue flowers at Joanns craft stores. They told me that when the time comes I can order in what I need. I am in a smaller town so I just have to look harder. I have been finding some awesome silver decorations that I can use for the wedding since the Christmas things have come out. I have found some big silver bows that I can use for the wedding aisle, etc.

. i got this idea when i ran out of gold flowers i was using for xmas decor.. i bought the same flowers for the project i was doing but different colors and i spray painted them with the color i was using and they turn out great.. i hope this works for u.... goodluck..
While looking at Kmart the other day I found some flowers that will work for the wedding. I wasn't even really going to Kmart for flowers but decided to look there anyways and found some flower that had Navy blue as well as some other blues. I asked my FH if they would work and he told me yes. So I am going to keep going to Kmart and getting all the flowers that I can from there. I also found a place that can special order the flowers if I need to go that route.
Thanks for all of your ideas and suggestions. I guess I need to have a little more patience and it will all work out.
