Please help me ladies. I am a 25 year old getting married March 25th 2006. I have plenty of time to plan my wedding, but I knew that I'd better get started now. My fiance and I just set the date night before last. I am not sure where to begin. What do I do first. Some one please help. Do you guys have any ideas to throw my way? I'd greatly appreciate them. I was thinking of an inside garden wedding here in Jacksonville, FL. I heard the Embassy Suites gives a nice one.

Most of the brides will tell you the best thing to do is get yourself a wedding planner. You can a good wedding planner on amazon.com with prices ranging from $10 - $40.

The first 2 most importants thing are to set a date and choose a "theme". Everything you do after that depends on those 2 decisions.

A theme can something very simple like establishing a color scheme that coordinates bridesmaids dresses, flowers & reception decor. To something more elaborate like a beach, western, princess, etc. theme.

I'd first come up with a budget.. figure out where you want to spend your expenses on. After you have done that, I'd start booking the big vendors (DJ, Caterer, Reception Location, and Ceremony Location) then start finding an officiant. Once you have those things out of the way, you can pretty much start figuring out colors, themes, decorations, etc. etc. There are many checklists online and in bridal magazines that you can go by that are very helpful. http://www.theknot.com seems to be really helpful when it comes to a checklist.
